In recent years,with the rapid development of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence,big data,and cloud computing,as well as the deep integration of these digital technologies with the real economy,the breadth and depth of influence of digital technology on entities are unprecedented,especially in restructuring resources and enhancing the competitiveness of enterprises.The report of the 20 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China also emphasized that it is necessary to promote the high-end,intelligent and green development of the manufacturing industry.It is necessary to accelerate the development of the digital economy,promote the deep integration of the digital economy and the real economy,and then build a new growth engine.Automobile manufacturing industry is an important position in the digital transformation of Chinese industry.Replacing tangible resources such as energy,material,manpower and capital with data resources is an important starting point to promote the green,coordinated and sustainable development of manufacturing industry.In this context,how should automobile manufacturing enterprises adhere to the combination of goal-oriented and problem-oriented,continue to build the growth engine of the new-energy automobile industry,strengthen the dominant position of enterprises,realize self-reliance in key core technologies,promote the integration and innovation of the upper,middle and lower reaches of the industrial chain,and accelerate the progress of the value chain towards the high-end? It is urgent to discuss issues such as accelerating the integration of the automobile industry with emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and 5G.This paper takes Sinotruk Jinan Trucks Co.,LTD.(Stock code 000951,hereinafter referred to as Sinotruk)as the research object of the digital transformation case.First of all,starting from the macro external factors,combining the dynamic capability theory,it analyzes the problems existing before the digital transformation of Sinotuk,and studies the motivations and capabilities of Sinotruk’s digital transformation;Secondly,combining the value chain theory and management synergy theory,demonstrate the mechanism of Sinotruk’s digital transformation in five stages: digital innovation,platform empowerment,product optimization,industrial collaboration and ecological construction,and trace the transmission path of its digital transformation on the value chain;Thirdly,by tracking the financial indicators of Sinotruk from 2012 to2021,the financial effects and reasons for changes of Sinotruk’s digital transformation are analyzed horizontally and vertically from four aspects of profitability,solvency,development ability and operation ability,and the comprehensive performance evaluation and analysis of the above four capabilities are carried out with entropy method in combination with innovation ability;In the part of non-financial performance evaluation,this paper analyzes the value creation of Sinotruk’s digital transformation from the perspective of stakeholders,including employees,customers,shareholders and the public;Finally,according to the above analysis,summarize the characteristics of Sinotruk ’s digital transformation work,and draw corresponding conclusions and countermeasures.This study found that:(1)Based on the dynamic capability theory and value chain theory,the digital transformation path of Sinotruk presents a pyramid structure,and the market demand forces enterprises to upgrade their original products and services.The pace of enterprise digitalization starts from the development and laying of intelligent systems at the production end,and gradually penetrates into the decision-making level and management level;(2)According to the management synergy theory,the TMES system,TMOS system and HMES system realized by Sinotruk have three-dimensional linkage,forming synergy effect,and then feedback back to the product and service level,effectively promoting the high-end service and significantly enhancing the product differentiation;(3)According to stakeholder theory,Sinotruk ’s digital transformation has brought significant financial performance improvement and value creation from multiple perspectives.This paper explores the pace of Sinotruk ’s digitalization process,finds out its digital application transmission path and influence mechanism,and summarizes the characteristics of the transformation and draws conclusions,with a view to providing constructive suggestions for the case enterprise’s digitalization transformation work,as well as providing reference for the smooth transition and value creation of China’s automobile manufacturing enterprises to realize the digitalization transformation under the digital economy.
