"Building French Style" Historiography And Creative Thought Research

The process of China’s historical civilization developed to the Song Dynasty,and the traditional cultural forms such as historiography,literature,art,science and technology gradually took shape and matured during this period,and the strong academic atmosphere made the documents and classics left in the Song Dynasty a great spectacle.In the field of architectural construction,the most representative literary classic is the book "Building the French Style" edited by Li Yi,the general of the Northern Song Dynasty.Completed in the second year of Chongning of the Northern Song Dynasty(1103 AD),the book is a monograph on the construction of centralized classical construction techniques in Dacheng,and contains rich historical information such as artistic aesthetics,scientific and technological manufacturing,and canon system.For this reason,from the rich documentary information of "Building the French Style",we can glimpse the social outlook,ideology,aesthetic taste and other aspects of the Song Dynasty,and the historical value is very considerable.Through the combing of the literature inheritance relationship of the book,it is found that since its publication,it has not only been regarded as a technical guidance manual in the field of architectural construction in China,but also has become an important reference for the revision of canonical ritual laws in successive dynasties since the Song Dynasty.Since modern times,Zhu Qijun discovered the banknote "Building French Style" in the Jiangnan Library and prepared to establish a construction society to carry out the research and proofreading of this book.Subsequently,scholars such as Tao Xiang,Liang Sicheng,Liu Dunzhen,Chen Mingda,and Fu Xinian began decades of correction work.Among them,Liang Sicheng first used the research method of mutual verification of physical objects and pictures and texts to correct the errors in the previous versions,avoiding the drawbacks of rational and utopian fantasy in the traditional literature examination method,and the current version of "Building the French Style" is basically complete.In modern times,the academic community has begun to continue to explore the book "Building the French Style" from the perspective of different disciplines,expanding the research perspective of the book.It is found that the book is not a simple architectural technique instruction manual,but also contains architectural structural mechanics,law,philology,management,aesthetics,art history,architectural design,environmental art and many other disciplines,and has profound cultural value and historical value.The results show that from the perspective of the development trend of design science gradually becoming more and more disciplinary,the book shows a strong correlation with design science in terms of content and the characteristics of multiple composition forms of literature.It can be said that "Building French Style" is a classic document that fully conforms to the characteristics of the discipline of design.As a classic design document that reflects China’s ancient creation technology and thought,"Building French Style" has important reference value for the construction of the basic literature system of the discipline of design.Therefore,this study intends to use the relevant research methods of philology to examine the documentary nature and historical style of the book,and combine the theoretical research methods of political economy,cultural anthropology and symbolic anthropology to extract the creation ideas contained in the book on the basis of clear documentary style,which can provide a relatively novel research paradigm and literature reference for exploring designs with Chinese characteristics.
