Relying on the Lougang river system, the rural area of South Taihu Lake has formed a symbiotic system of organic combination of "water system, farmland and village".After years of historical development and evolution,on the whole,it presents a unique and stable spatial pattern. It is a banded lakeside rural area with significant regional characteristics in China. The mode of production is the core driving force that affects the evolution of rural spatial pattern. There are also differences in the spatial layout characteristics of production modes in different periods, thus forming different rural spatial patterns in different periods. From a macro perspective, this paper divides the evolution of production methods in the rural areas of South Taihu Lake into five historical periods, and summarizes the characteristics and motivations of the changes in production methods in each historical period. It also explores the dynamic mechanism of the impact of changes in production methods in various periods on the spatial pattern of rural land use, streets and lanes, and residential buildings, and analyzes the relationship between rural production methods and rural spatial patterns in the South Taihu Polder. Finally, this paper proposes the corresponding directions for the development of rural space in the South Taihu Lake area under the current different industrial transformation modes. This study is conducive to excavating the evolution law and value of the spatial pattern of characteristic rural areas, and is of great significance for the protection of characteristic villages and towns and the selection of sustainable development paths. The first part(Chapter1)is the introduction, which expounds the background, purpose, significance, and innovation of this research. At the same time,it summarizes and summarizes the aspects of polders, water towns, rural production methods, and rural spatial evolution, laying a theoretical foundation for subsequent research. And establish the overall research method framework of this paper. At the same time, this paper summarizes the aspects of polders, water towns, rural production methods, and rural spatial evolution to lay a theoretical foundation for subsequent research. And establish the overall research method framework of this paper. The second part(Chapter 2)firstly introduces the basic situation of natural resources, water conservancy projects, traditional culture, and industrial development in the rural areas of South Taihu Lake.Secondly,it summarizes the historical development of the rural areas in the South Taihu polder area. Finally, the overall spatial morphological characteristics of the rural areas in the South Taihu polder are summarized. The third part(Chapter 3)divides the evolution of production methods in South Taihu polders by stages.By sorting out the development laws of each period,we find the production methods tend to be diversified, refined and large-scale.At the same time, the author finds that water conservancy construction, population migration, policies and systems, and transportation methods are the main reasons for the continuous change of rural production methods in the South Taihu polder. The fourth part(Chapter 4)explores the dynamic mechanism of the influence of different historical periods of production mode changes on rural land layout, street space, residential buildings and other spatial patterns.Analyze the relationship between production mode and rural spatial pattern, and summarize the general trend of rural spatial evolution. The fifth part(Chapter 5)Combined with the current national rural revitalization strategy, various planning documents issued by Huzhou city in recent years and the advantages of characteristic resources, the overall trend of rural production mode transformation and development in southern Taihu polder area is predicted. And explore the direction of rural space planning in the future mode of production transformation. The sixth part(Chapter six)is the conclusion discussion.Summarize the research conclusions and shortcomings of this paper.
