Shared bicycle and its riding environment in the main city of Nanjing are taken as the research object. It uses a variety of quantitative and qualitative analysis methods to deeply explore the characteristics of shared bicycle as well as evaluate the quality of cycling environment:First of all, analyze the spatiotemporal characteristics of shared bicycle from a macro level – It relies on big data technology to obtain and process data, and mainly focus on the basic and spatiotemporal characteristics of shared bicycle(based on the riding destination D,the starting point O,spatial and temporal feature correlation of O-D).Meanwhile,related environmental factors of shared bicycle are also discussed. The research found that:(1)In terms of basic characteristics, there is an obvious "double peaks" period in the daily use of shared bicycles and the old town is the most active travel area.(2)In terms of spatiotemporal characteristics(especially the distribution of cycling intensity),commuting trips is most concentrated in Meiyuan Xincun Street while shopping trips is the most variable, and the patterns of leisure trips in day and night are the most similar(features of D).The outflow patterns of different kinds of cycling starting points can be mainly divided into 4 types(features of O).In general, the O-D correlation of leisure and commuting trips are the highest under the statistical unit of street and road section respectively(features of O-D correlation).(3)In terms of related environmental factors, the density of bus stops, subway station entrances and exits, and branch roads are the significant related factors under the street statistical unit. While NDVI,the number of transfer facilities, the utility of non-isolated facilities, and the quality of bicycle lanes are such factors under the road statistical unit. Then, the typical samples of cycling environment are evaluated from the micro level – Typical road sections are selected on the basis of the research conclusions at the macro level, and primary data are mainly collected by questionnaire survey and field research. Then,an assessment system is constructed to evaluate the pros and cons of cycling environment according to the context of "general-sub-item – group differentiation".The research found that:(1)In terms of the overall assessment, the value of cycling environment of Zhongyang Road,Taiping South Road,Zhujiang Road and Madao Street decrease successively.(2)In terms of the sub-item assessment,Zhongyang Road,Zhujiang Road and Taiping South Road have their own advantages and disadvantages, but Madao Street is always the last.(3)When it comes to group differentiation,in terms of age, residents over 46 years old have the highest evaluation value of travel attributes, but the results of transportation facilities and environment decrease with the increase of age. From the point of view of usage, the highest evaluation value of travel attribute, transportation facilities and environment are those who ride the whole journey or transfer to subway. Finally, summarize the problems and put forward strategies – Combining with the conclusions from the macro and micro level as well as the questionnaire, current problems are inducted and reasons are analyzed, which is the foundation of 7 comprehensive optimization strategies on improving cycling environment.Among them, the macro-level strategies include planning of bicycle lanes, layout of parking spot, scheduling of shared bicycle, integration of bus system and improvement of road environment. While micro-level strategies include optimization of road section and improvement of isolation facilities. The whole paper is about 100,000 words, and there are 90 charts in total.
