When driving at night, the lights on both sides of the road will produce obstacles to the driver’s visual function, and even lead to judgment errors and in serious cases,it may even lead to errors in judgment causing irreparable damage. Therefore,it is significance to establish an accurate and effective dynamic glare evaluation model to ensure the safety of the lives and property of the majority of drivers. At present, the Threshold Increment is considered as one of the main evaluation indexes of outdoor road lighting environment glare in static state, but there is little research on dynamic glare evaluation at night. Therefore,it is particularly important to conduct further research on dynamic glare evaluation index which conforms to the visual characteristics of drivers. After analyzing the dynamic factors of dynamic glare,a dynamic field of view extraction method which conforms to the human visual characteristics is proposed to improve the dynamic glare evaluation index.Based on the visual characteristics of the human eyes, real vehicle experiments were conducted on urban roads to collect the driver’s eye movement behavior data. After a series of processing such as data filtering and coordinate transformation, effective eye movement images of regions of interest were obtained through Gaussian density estimation and image filling algorithms. At this time, the extracted eye movement images of regions of interest were taken as the true value, which were used as the error judgment basis for other methods,it lays a foundation for the improvement of dynamic glare evaluation index. The extraction results of the visual field range show that with the change of driving speed, the dynamic and static equivalent veiling brightness perceived by the driver will also change. The faster the driving speed is,the smaller the driver’s visual attention area is,the smaller the average screen area of the glare source in the driver’s gaze area is,and the more centralized the dynamic glare effect is felt by the human eye.According to the change rule of the dynamic visual field of human eyes, through the comparative analysis of four functional models,it can be seen that the exponential function model can better reflect the relationship between the driving speed and the brightness ratio of dynamic and static equivalent screens. Therefore, the exponential function is selected to fit the change trend of the driving speed and the dynamic and static brightness difference coefficient, and the dynamic glare evaluation model is established.Using regular images to simplify the eye dynamic region of interest, and selecting ellipse as the regular region of interest has high reliability in predicting the shape. The model of the effect of the change of visual field on the driver’s perception of dynamic glare provides a basis for the objective evaluation of dynamic glare.
