A novel energy-disseminating and vibration-diminishing brace,the Buckling-Restrained Brace,is now available.Its "anti-buckling" feature solves the problems of easy buckling under compression and poor energy consumption of common brace,and its working performance is stable,which attracts more and more attention of anti-seismic researchers.Low-yield-point steel has low yield strength and good ductility.Materials-based structural members can be produced with greater efficiency,leading to a quicker yield and a greater energy expenditure.Therefore,low-yield-point steel is widely used as the core material of energy-consuming elements and energy-consuming devices to protect the main structure by yield energy consumption.This paper proposes a piecewise buckling-resistaned brace,based on the excellent ductility and energy dissipation of LY160 low-yield-point steel.Through experimental research and numerical simulation,the seismic performance is determined through theoretical analysis.The primary research topics are:(1)Hysteretic behavior test of LY160 steel Buckling-Restrained Brace.First,monotonic tensile tests are carried out on LY160 steel to determine the elastic-plastic properties of the material.On the basis of theoretical analysis,the sectional buckling-resistant brace specimens are designed and made,and the low-cycle tension-compression cyclic loading system is used for experimental research.An examination of the hysteretic conduct,tension-compression unbalance coefficient,and energy consumption coefficient of the specimens is conducted,and the LY160 steel sectional buckling-resistant brace’s test bearing capacity is then ascertained.(2)Finite element software ABAQUS is used for parametric analysis.In the finite element software ABAQUS,the hysteretic behavior of LY160 steel core is simulated by the combined reinforcement model.The equivalent sectional stiffness,yield bearing capacity,yield displacement and unbalanced coefficient of tension and compression are compared and analyzed for the specimens under different influence parameters.Obtaining the primary determinants and regulations of the sectional bracing bearing capacity establishes a basis for practical engineering utilization.
