Rivers’ natural space is slowly being lost as a result of urban land development.Numerous natural disasters brought on by the trend of global warming are also putting rivers’ ecological security in jeopardy.Jialu River has made significant strides in river restoration as part of the development of an ecological civilization, and the completion of a comprehensive treatment project has significantly lessened the ecological crisis of the river corridor.Yet,the landscape design of the river corridor’s waterfront area has not been developed appropriately, despite it being a significant urban public space. This article examines the waterfront landscape design of a river corridor in Jialu Reach in Zhengzhou City, beginning with a research of river ecological corridor construction.First, look for relevant research hotspots for river corridor and waterfront landscape design using the vosviewer system for keyword co-discovery of relevant papers from the previous ten years.Use theories like landscape ecology,eco-cities,sponge cities, ecological restoration, and other fundamental concepts as a guide.Second, the practical tactics and fundamental design concepts of waterfront landscape design are outlined in light of the building of river corridors and the growth of eco-cities through the analysis of river corridor landscape design practice instances both domestically and internationally. Then, the Jialu River’s Zhengzhou portion is researched and evaluated to determine the biological environment status, waterfront landscape design status, and development environment.Through this analysis, existing issues and flaws in the landscape design are discovered. The site’s slope, slope direction, vegetation(NDVI),water area, and elevation were all analyzed using Arcgis, and the findings of the analysis were utilized as assessment criteria for weight calculations to determine how sensitive the site is to ecological forces. The study then presents particular design goals, tactics, and guiding principles using the Jialu River waterfront landscape design as an example. On the basis of this information, the site is separated into four zones for particular design, and practices revegetation design, stormwater management design, biodiversity design, plant landscape design, function optimization, service facility enhancement, cultural integration, and other tactics.Enhancing the Jialu River ecological corridor waterfront environment from ecological, cultural, economic, and other perspectives is intended to serve as a model for other urban waterfronts. In order to serve as a model for other urban waterfront landscape designs now under construction,it is anticipated to increase the value of the Jialu River ecological corridor waterfront landscape from ecological, cultural, economic, and other perspectives.
