Waterfront Ecological Corridor In Urban Design Study

Since ancient times, water is closely related to the human survival and development. Water is the source of life, but also an important element of the environment, which should be in full attention in urban construction and design. Waterfront urban ecological corridor is an important part of urban public space, in which both natural and artificial landscape is featured.This article used the model of the theory "plaque, the corridor, the matrix" in a flexible way and proposed the concept of ecological waterfront corridor. In-depth discussions with gallery as a link, the green landscape, open space and waterfront construction of urban Waterfront area, which are in the relative isolation of each other, were connected to build a "points, lines, three-dimensional" combination of urban organisms. Exploration of the principles and methods to city's ecological foreshore Water corridor in the urban design was also proposed by the author.This structure of the study is divided into six parts. Introduction to the first part, explained the background on the subject, the sources of the subject and research methods, meaning etc. The second part is through the clarifying of relevant basic concept to provide theoretical support to the definition of urban waterfront ecological corridor. The third part is to choose typical project cases of the urban waterfront corridor design and learn from their advanced ideas and practices. The fourth part is to propose design principles, objectives and content to the exploration of city's ecological corridor in waterfront urban design. Further study was made in the fifth part. The last part is to use conclusion of the study into practice by an example of urban design project.In this paper, landscape ecology theory as a guide, the author made use of landscape ecological planning and urban design methods to study urban ecological waterfront corridor, in the propose of getting its biggest ecological, social and economic benefits of city's ecological corridor in waterfront urban, which is a new exploration.
