With the acceleration of urbanization, the urban living environment needs to be comprehensively improved in the process of high-quality development. As an important part of the soft environment of urban construction, plant landscape occupies an important position in the construction of urban environment.Plant color and plant modeling not only bring rich sensory experience to people, but also transmit different emotional signals. At present, the depressed group in the whole society is showing a younger trend. It is of great social value to create a good campus environment for students to regulate their emotions and relax their minds. In this study, the main and objective experimental methods were used to explore the visual preference of college students on campus plant color by combining eye tracking view and eye tracking index data, and the plant color fixation law of college students was summarized. This study mainly focuses on six aspects:(1)Referring to relevant literature,Proposing the hypothesis that the proportion of green elements in plant landscapes affects visual preferences and that there are differences in plant color preferences under different proportions of green elements;(2)Summarize the relevant theories of color psychology, visual perception and eye movement analysis, analyze the research frontier, and determine the purpose, content and method of this research;(3)Take and screen 40 typical campus plant landscape sample images.Using the proportion of green plants in the images as the classification standard.Recruit eligible participants to conduct campus plant color preference eye movement tests and record eye movement data;(4)Divide the plant color interest area in the sample, and summarize the subject’s eye movement behavior law from the eye tracking view;(5)Select relevant eye movement indicators to analyze the differences in the proportion of different green plants and the evaluation of different plant color systems, and compare the fixation behavior patterns of different populations;(6)Combined with the results of eye tracking view and eye tracking data analysis,a color allocation strategy for campus plants was proposed. This study mainly draws the following five conclusions:(1)Through the questionnaire survey,it was found that college students regarded the color of flowers and leaves as the most important visual elements of campus plant landscape.College students’ Favorite plant viewing seasons are spring and autumn. The degree of preference for plant color is: green, purple, red, yellow, white, blue, orange in descending order.College students believe that it is appropriate to include 2-3 plant colors in a botanical group.(2)According to the research of eye tracking psychology, the larger the average pupil diameter, the greater the mood swing; The more blinks you have, the deeper your visual fatigue; The longer the average fixation time, the more difficult it is to recognize information; The more fixes, the higher the attention; The larger the average saccade, the faster the information can be acquired. From the eye tracking evaluation data,it can be seen that as the proportion of green plants in the sample increases, the mood fluctuations of the participants gradually decrease. The subjects’ visual fatigue gradually deepened; The cognitive difficulty of surface information gradually decreases; The participants’ attention gradually deepened; The speed at which participants obtain surface information gradually increases.(3)When viewing plant landscapes with 0-20%,20%-40%,40%-60% and60%-80% of the green system, the participants’ gaze time on different color systems was: green, purple, red, and yellow; When viewing the plant landscape with a green proportion of 80%-100%,the fixation time of participants for different color schemes,in descending order,is: green, yellow, purple, and red.(4)The time of first arrival in the interest area can reflect the order of attraction of plant color systems in the plant landscape to the subjects. When observing the plant landscape with a green proportion of 0-20%,the attraction order of different plant color systems to the participants was: green, red, purple and yellow; When observing the plant landscape with a green proportion of 20%-40%,the attraction order of different plant color systems to the subjects was: purple, green, red and yellow; When observing the plant landscape with a green proportion of 40%-60%,the attraction order of different plant color systems to the participants was: green, red, yellow and purple. When observing the plant landscape with a green proportion of 60%-80%,the attraction order of different plant color systems to the participants was: green, purple, red and yellow; When observing the plant landscape with a green proportion of 80%-100%,the attraction order of different plant color systems to the participants was: green, yellow, red and purple.(5)Comparing the eye movement indicators of different groups of people viewing plant landscape sample pictures,it was found that there was no significant difference in average pupil diameter between different genders. There was no significant difference in emotional fluctuations. When observing campus plant landscape, the mood swings of non-professional people were larger than those of professional people, and the mood fluctuations of undergraduate students were greater than that of master students.Men pay more attention to surface information than women.Professional groups pay more attention to surface information than non-professional people.Master students pay more attention to surface information than undergraduates.Men have easier information cognition than women.Professional people have easier information cognition than non-professional people.Master’s students have easier information cognition than undergraduate students. There are some differences in the gaze patterns of different visual elements of plant landscapes among different groups of people: men prefer green plants, and women prefer yellow and red plants;Non-professional people prefer yellow and red plants, and professional people prefer plants with unique plant types and leaf shapes.Master students prefer red plants, and undergraduates prefer flowering trees than master students. The study proposes suggestions for campus plant color configuration from three perspectives: the color configuration of campus plant landscapes with different proportions of green systems, the color configuration of plants in different areas of the campus, and the configuration of other visual elements of plants. It is hoped to provide reference for campus plant color matching.
