Research On The Application Of Chuxiong Yi Regional Culture In The Design Of The Courtyard Landscape Of Fushan Cao Tang B&B In Yunnan

In recent years,as domestic tourism has gradually picked up,people’s choice of travel mode has also changed,especially for those who have been living in the city for a long time,some B&Bs away from the hustle and bustle and close to nature have become a priority.The B&B itself has regional and personalised characteristics,and the B&B courtyard,as an important public area within it,is an important place to showcase local cultural characteristics and customs,enabling residents to get a deeper feel for the local culture.However,as B&Bs are an emerging industry,most B&B brands do not dig deeply into local culture,lacking expressions of regional culture and folklore features,making it difficult to attract tourists,a situation that not only makes B&B landscape design lacking in regional cultural features,but also leads to the problem of low B&B brand awareness.As the trend of cultural tourism is gradually rising and the B&B industry is becoming more regulated,the question of how to use localised design techniques to bring the B&B courtyard landscape design back to the local culture to meet the new development opportunities has become an urgent issue to be resolved.Yunnan is a multi-ethnic region on the south-western edge of the country,and the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture is rich in natural and human landscapes,making it a unique geographical environment that makes it a tourist destination.Amongst the many ethnic groups in Yunnan,the Yi are unique in their material and spiritual culture,and the courtyard is an important part of their daily life.The design of the courtyards of these lodges should therefore be designed in such a way as to fully explore the local culture and ethnic characteristics of the area,so that they can be integrated with the local architectural style and form a personalised,regional landscape for the lodges,thus making the design of the courtyards better suited to the new trends.Based on this,this paper focuses on the Fushan Cao Tang B&B compound in Yongren Fang Mountain,Chuxiong,Yunnan,and uses theories from cultural geography,social psychology,ethnography,management,semiotics and other disciplines as a basis.The study aims to improve the design quality of the residential landscape by integrating the local Yi culture with the residential courtyard landscape,and by reflecting the local characteristics and ethnic cultural heritage in the design of the residential courtyard.This paper focuses on the following three points: firstly,through an in-depth excavation of the regional culture of the Chuxiong Yi people,an analysis of its regional cultural characteristics,a summary of the design content and cultural symbolisation of the regional culture of the Yunnan Chuxiong Yi people in the B&B courtyard landscape,and an analysis of the expression of regional design in the B&B courtyard space through case studies.Secondly,on the basis of field research,a questionnaire survey is used to understand local residents’ identification with Yi regional culture and foreign visitors’ perception of the use of cultural elements in the Chuxiong B&B courtyard,to further analyse people’s needs for the Chuxiong B&B courtyard landscape,as well as their evaluation and opinions of the B&B courtyard landscape,and to provide experience and a basis for the practical project.Finally,on the basis of analysing the current situation of the Fushan Cao Tang site and summarising its design principles,the proposed theories and methods are tested to provide a basis for designing specific practical studies of the B&B courtyard landscape.As the longest stay in a tourist activity and the most representative of the local cultural characteristics,the B&B courtyard has a very important role in the overall landscape design of the B&B.The first is to investigate the integration of Chuxiong Yi regional culture with the B&B courtyard landscape;second,based on field research and case studies,the application of Chuxiong Yi regional culture in the B&B courtyard is investigated at three levels: cultural symbols,cultural space and cultural emotions;third,in the study of the B&B courtyard landscape,a qualitative and quantitative approach is adopted.This paper combines qualitative and quantitative research methods,based on the residents and visitors of Chuxiong,in order to better promote its cultural characteristics in spatial design.The significance of this paper is to provide a theoretical basis for the study of the local culture of the Yi people in Chuxiong,Yunnan Province,in combination with the design of the local B&B courtyard,and to summarise the methods of creating the local B&B courtyard space through field research,and to put them into practice in the design of the Fushan Cao Tang B&B,providing a new design idea for this type of venue,which can also play a positive role in the promotion of local cultural tourism.
