Traditional villages are the main carriers of cultural memory of villages.Spatial environments such as pattern planning, traditional architecture, natural landscape, open space and traffic streets all witness the development history of villages and carry the collective memory of generations of village people.Today, with the rapid development of urbanization, traditional villages are undergoing rapid changes. On the spatial level, with the continuous impact of global culture, village space design becomes more and more standardized and homogeneous. At the time level, the problems of hollowing out, aging and the dilution of collective memory in villages become more and more obvious. It can be seen that the development of traditional villages faces many challenges at the spatial and memory levels. Therefore,it is of great value to combine village collective memory to activate village internal space environment for the protection of village cultural memory carrier and the continuation of village collective memory. The first part puts forward the existing problems of the collective memory of traditional village characteristics being forgotten and the assimilation of spatial environment construction in the village. This paper introduces the research background, purpose and significance of the subject, and analyzes the research status in relevant fields at home and abroad by collecting and sorting out a large number of domestic and foreign research works and literature related to collective memory theory and traditional villages. On this basis, the research object of this study,Zhenjiang Huashan Village,is selected, and research methods and research framework are formulated.Based on the theory of collective memory, this paper explores the relationship between the spatial environment of traditional villages and the collective memory of villages, and constructs the activation design strategy to protect collective memory, continue the context of traditional villages and improve the quality of spatial environment.Based on this, this paper takes Huashan Village of Zhenjiang as the research object and conducts in-depth research on the activation mode of spatial environment of traditional villages under the guidance of collective memory theory. The third part,on the basis of theoretical research through the field investigation method to the research object-Zhenjiang Huashan village field investigation and analysis.Firstly, the regional background and basic overview of the study area are introduced.Secondly,by combing relevant research data, the composition form of village spatial environment is analyzed. In combination with the composition of village memory,36 existing spatial environments bearing village collective memory are sorted out, among which 26 bear village historical memory and 25 bear village experience memory. There are 15 Spaces carrying both historical memory and experience memory of the village.First of all, this paper puts forward the existing problems of the collective memory of traditional village characteristics being forgotten and the spatial environment construction within the village being assimilated, analyzes the research status of relevant fields at home and abroad, and selects Zhenjiang Huashan Village as the research object on this basis, and develops the research methods and framework. At the same time, the relevant theoretical research and methods are expounded. This paper expounds collective memory, traditional villages and their relationship, and sorts out three components of village spatial environment under the collective memory theory: memory subject, memory object and time memory, which provides theoretical support for the following research. In the fifth part, combined with the strategies obtained, the cultural space, leisure space, street space and architectural space of Huashan Village are deeply transformed and designed from the three dimensions of "point, line and surface".Secondly,on the basis of theoretical research, field investigation method is used to investigate and analyze the research object of this paper--Huashan Village in Zhenjiang.Firstly, the regional background and basic overview of the research area are introduced.Secondly,by combing relevant research data, the composition forms of village spatial environment are analyzed, and combined with the composition of village memory, the existing spatial environment bearing village collective memory is sorted out.Furthermore, based on the research results, the paper proposes the spatial activation principle of memory identification and place connection and the temporality principle of integrating memory elements based on current needs. At the same time, corresponding activation strategies are proposed, which are applied to the case by clarifying the core memory points of the place, associating and connecting the memory space, and creating the overall memory atmosphere of the village. Finally, combined with the strategies obtained, the space environment bearing village collective memory in Huashan Village is deeply transformed and designed from three dimensions of "point, line and surface".Through the combination of theory and practice, this research aims to protect the space environment bearing the collective memory of traditional villages so as to continue the collective memory of traditional villages. This provides a feasible optimization method for the activation of traditional villages, and provides the basis and guidance for the protection and development of traditional villages.
