In recent years, with the continuous development of education and science and technology, the form of interaction in museums has also changed, from the traditional formal and teaching museum learning mode to a new interactive mode of participation and experience.Museums are places of knowledge, culture and art,and places where children learn and explore. Therefore,it is necessary for museums to provide professional experiences for children to make visits more meaningful. This article aims to explore how to promote children’s learning and development in museums, provide children with enjoyable learning experience during the visit, stimulate children’s curiosity and creativity, and provide opportunities for exploration and discovery after the visit.Based on the theory of child development,it clarifies the cognitive development of school-age children, takes constructivist learning theory as the support, considers children’s needs and learning styles more comprehensively, and provides a more targeted and interactive experience.Select Xi’an Forest of Steles Museum as the research object, and locate the target group as school-age children.Analyze and discuss the learning experience in the Forest of Steles Museum from the perspective of school-age children, especially the visiting experience in the Children’s Museum.Based on this, this paper intends to use the case study method, behavior observation method, user interview method, etc.to conduct research,to investigate the process of children’s learning activities in the museum and the interpretation of the experience after the visit. After analyzing the results of the survey, the design principles for children’s interest in visiting experiences are obtained: the principle of museum children’s participation and interaction, the principle of exploratory practice, the principle of story contextualization, and the principle of sensory diversification. And put forward corresponding design strategies to design an attractive museum experience that meets children’s age, interests and needs.
