| A metropolitan area refers to a circle structure composed of one or more central cities and their surrounding neighboring towns and regions, and the surrounding towns and central cities maintain close ties and gradually tend to be integrated. In recent years, metropolitan areas have become an important carrier for promoting coordinated regional development and promoting the national new urbanization strategy, and the importance of cultivating and developing metropolitan areas is emphasized in The Key Tasks of New Urbanization issued by the National Development and Reform Commission.Ideal spatial economic linkages will help metropolitan areas play their role in promoting large-scale flow of factors and promote the integrated development of urban and rural areas between regions. This study has taken Hangzhou metropolitan area as the research object, years of 2010,2015 and 2020 as the main nodes of the research time range, and the county area as the basic study unit.Based on the revised gravitational model, this paper studies the spatial economic linkages and the first contact direction of 34 county nodes.Indeed, this study not only assesses the spatial economic linkages network structure by using Social Network Analysis method, but also examines the time-and space-dependent evolution characteristics and development trend of the economic linkages network of Hangzhou metropolitan area.Further more, the QAP regression method is also applied to explore the influencing factors of the evolution of spatial economic connection network in metropolitan areas, and optimization strategies are proposed. The main conclusions are as follows:(1)From the perspective of the evolutive characteristics of spatial economic linkages, the overall trend of spatial economic linkage within the metropolitan area shows an upward trend, and the senior level gradually fills the absolute proportion, but the interaction is still insufficient between the non-central county nodes. From the perspective of agglomeration degree,Each degree of agglomeration decreases year over year as it moves from the top to the bottom level, which demonstrates that the high-level agglomeration polarization situation in the region has been eased to a certain extent. Most of the counties in the metropolitan area are independent of the central city over the first contact direction network.(2)The general condition of the spatial structure indicates that the network density has increased and the average distance has decreased from the perspective of the network structure of the Hangzhou metropolitan region. The Hangzhou metropolitan area exhibits the group structure of four agglomeration subgroups,in which the Hangzhou urban area is dominating, based on the agglomeration subgroup analysis. The clustering features of the network nodes in the Hangzhou metropolitan area show a multi-layer structure with the Hangzhou urban area at its center.(3)The factors of administrative division, industrial structure, and innovation level all have a consistent and significant impact on the formation and development of the spatial economic network, while the factors of employment scale, local protection, and population mobility will have varying impacts at different stages of the network’s development. In contrast, the factor of logistics differences have no discernible impact on the network’s establishment.(4)According to the evolution trend and influencing factors of the economic network structure development in Hangzhou metropolitan area, corresponding optimization strategies are proposed: Enhancing the urban network and optimizing the spatial pattern;Encouraging collaborative innovation and improving innovation ability;Hastening industrial transformation and optimizing industrial layout;Removing barriers to cooperation and deepening division and cooperation. |
