Cultural landscapes are the result of the interaction between humans and nature, with the harmonious relationship between people and the land being its fundamental attribute.Rice cultivation,as an important testament to the harmonious relationship between humans and the land, has a strong shaping effect on the waterfield dwelling environment within a specific region. The Zhebei Plain,as one of the origins of rice cultivation in the world, has continuously evolved its waterfield dwelling landscape pattern and rice culture imagery under the influence of thousands of years of human rice cultivation activities, forming a unique rice cultivation cultural landscape. However,in the context of traditional agricultural modernization and the construction of new rural areas, the inheritance of traditional rice cultivation cultural landscapes faces significant challenges. Therefore, research on the protection of rice cultivation cultural landscapes is necessary. This article takes the rice cultivation cultural landscape of the Zhebei Plain as its research object and primarily employs research methods such as field investigations, analysis of ancient documents, and the mutual verification of images and texts to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the rice cultivation cultural landscape in the Zhebei Plain.Based on this analysis, from the perspective of cultural landscapes and heritage conservation, the research on the protection of the rice cultivation cultural landscape in the Zhebei Plain is divided into three parts: formation and evolution, system composition, and conservation and development, resulting in the following achievements:Firstly, the formation basis and evolutionary process of the rice cultivation cultural landscape in the Zhebei Plain are analyzed.Building upon unique natural and cultural conditions, the rice cultivation cultural landscape in the Zhebei Plain has gone through four stages of development: the nurturing and preparation stage in the pre-Qin period, the initial stage of formation and creation from the Qin Dynasty to the Five Dynasties period, the stable and mature stage from the Northern Song Dynasty to the mid-Qing Dynasty, and the modern transformation stage since the late Qing Dynasty.Secondly, based on the theory of cultural landscapes, the characteristic attributes of the rice cultivation cultural landscape in the Zhebei Plain are described, and a theoretical research framework is constructed, defining and interpreting the concept and content of the rice cultivation cultural landscape. The multiple values of the rice cultivation cultural landscape are explored, including ecological value, cultural value, and aesthetic value.Thirdly,a content study is conducted on the material and non-material system composition of the rice cultivation cultural landscape.Regarding the material landscape system composition of rice cultivation culture,it is viewed as the rice field landscape formed on the basis of river networks, dikes, and ponds through rice cultivation tools.Regarding the non-material landscape system of rice cultivation culture,it is seen as a comprehensive entity consisting of rice ritual ceremonies, agricultural knowledge and sentiment, divination customs, and other rice cultivation cultural phenomena.Fourthly, based on the practical conservation challenges faced by the rice cultivation cultural landscape, principles for its protection are proposed, including integrity, vitality, authenticity, and multi-stakeholder participation.Specific conservation and development strategies are suggested for the material carriers and non-material culture of the rice cultivation cultural landscape.Additionally,a demonstrative plan for the protection of the rice cultivation cultural landscape in Lincun Town,Zhebei Plain,is presented as a practical conservation practice. |
