The sow feeding station is an intelligent device that meets the requirements of animal welfare and precise feeds of group-housed sows.The precise feeding method of the intelligent sow feeding station can effectively increase PSY and prolong sow longevity.The intelligent management method promotes the management level.The scientific breeding method improves the quality of piglets,reduces post-weaning mortality and feed costs.Intelligent sow feeding stations are of great significance to promote the healthy and sustainable development of China’s pig husbandry,and will help China’s pig husbandry to move from a big country to a powerful one.In this work,the main structure of an intelligent feeding station is designed for precise feeding of group-housed gestation sows,which have practical value and research significance.The design requirements of was proposed based on the analysis of the structure and working principle of the main structure of the intelligent sow feeding station.Fence structure,feeding device and intelligent control system which are 3 main aspects of sow feeding station are determined.Entrance gate,feeding area,inkjet device,exit gate and separation gate are designed.The size of the silo in this feeding station was calculated.By comprehensively comparing the performance of various feeders,the screw feeder was selected.The spiral parameters of the feeder are calculated:the diameter of the spiral blade is 63 mm,the pitch is 52 mm,the diameter of the screw shaft is 42 mm,and the output speed is 24r/min.In order to reduce the influence of the feeding pulsation phenomenon,the end of the feeding screw was designed as a double helix.A new type of discharge port is designed to reduce the waste caused by material slipping after downtime.The control circuit of the feeding station was completed.A weighing platform was designed to monitor the weight of sows.The strength and rigidity of the feeding screw and weighing platform are checked by finite element software.The EDEM is used to simulate the feeding process of the screw feeder in order to explore the movement of the material and the improvement of the pulsation phenomenon in the process of feeding the screw.This simulation verifies that the double helix and the anti-material slipping after downtime are reasonable.The prototype of the equipment was manufactured and tested.The measured maximum relative error of the weighing platform is 0.92%,the feeder conveying capacity is 1176 g/min,and the maximum relative error of feeding is 1.8%,which all meets the design requirements.Through the quantitative feeding experiment,the influence law of spiral pitch,spiral speed and feeding times on feeding accuracy was discovered.The results indicated that the screw pitch,screw speed,and feeding times of the prototype have an effect on the feeding accuracy from large to small:spiral pitch>spiral speed>feeding times.
