Corn is one of the main grains in China.It has a large planting area in China and its deepprocessed products are very popular among consumers.As the first step of corn deep processing,corn peeling operation plays an important role in the whole corn processing process.However,the traditional corn peeling production line has the problems of low degree of automation,high labor intensity and high breakage rate of corn kernels due to the limitation of its processing equipment.A solution for automatic upgrading of corn peeling production line is required.This paper takes corn as the research object,and studies the key technology of its peeling production line.The main research contents and research results are as follows:(1)Research on the overall scheme of the peeling production line and the peeling method.According to the properties of corn,the production process of the peeling production line and the corn peeling method are planned.Then,the overall design scheme of the peeling production line and a low damage corn peeling method are proposed.(2)Research on key equipment design schemes.According to the function of the peeling production line and the corn peeling method,the principle of the main equipment used in the production line is analyzed,and various design schemes are proposed.After that,through the comparison and analysis of each scheme,the better design scheme of the feeding equipment,vibration equipment,head and tail identification equipment,forward equipment and peeling equipment used in the production line is obtained.(3)Research on the structure and parameters of key equipment.According to the design scheme of key equipment,the specific mechanical structure and parameters of vibration equipment,forward equipment and peeling equipment are designed.The parameters of the vibration equipment was determined,the design of the cam mechanism of the forward equipment was completed,and the design of the peeling equipment and its various devices was completed.(4)Virtual prototype modeling and simulation analysis.According to the design scheme of the peeling production line and key equipment,the production line and the cam mechanism of the forwarding equipment is modeled and simulated by using ADAMS and Solid Works.Therefore,the verification of the production line operation ability was completed,the motion simulation analysis of the cam mechanism and the mechanical simulation analysis of its dial parts were completed,and the rationality of the cam mechanism is verified.(5)Research on the identification method of corn head and tail orientation.The collected corn image is segmented between the foreground and the background using the threshold segmentation method,and the segmented image of corn is obtained.Then,a threshold segmentation method based on color features is proposed,which uses the gray threshold range to obtain the tail region of the corn segmentation image and judges the orientation of the head and tail of the corn according to the position of the region.The accuracy of this method is 83%,but it does not have strong robustness.Next,a method for identifying the head and tail of corn based on machine learning is proposed.It first extracts the histogram of oriented gradient(HOG)feature vector and the local binary patterns(LBP)feature vector from the head and tail parts of the corn segmentation image,and uses principal component analysis(PCA)to reduce the dimension of the feature vector,and finally use the support vector machine(SVM)to classify the feature vector and judge the orientation of the head and tail of the corn according to the result.The highest accuracy rate of this method is 97.2%,which can better realize the recognition of the head and tail of corn.Finally,the design of the corn head and tail orientation recognition software was completed using the Python programming language.
