In China, corn is the most important crops, it has the world’s second largest planting area. In China, corn planting area have large span, including plateau, plain,hilly area and that lead to the planting model were different of those areas. The mechanical harvest of corn was more and more difficult. The corn planting area in hilly is more than a quarter of all the area in China, almost 125 million mu. For now,the corn harvester head in China were almost work on the line, that kind of style is difficult to adapt to interregional work. In order to solve the problem of low levels corn mechanical harvest. This article aims to get a new corn harvester head to adapt the double row corn combine harvester.In this research, to solve the stand position transporting problems of double row corn combine harvester, the head performance test apparatus were designed. This research aimed at to accomplish the transition of corn transverse to longitudinal and enter the ear pick part with standing position. The working principle of corn harvester head have been analysis. The test factors include the distance between lower reel wheel chain teeth head and cutter point, the line velocity of lower reel wheel chain,distance of two adjacent teeth, the angle between lower reel wheel chain and cutter bar,the condition of up reel wheel belt were tested to obtain the influence law of transport position. Another test showed that the separate –support equipment could adapt front tilt corn. The results showed that the head could complete the corn transport on standing position, when the lower reel wheel chain teeth head was in front of cutter point, the line velocity of lower reel wheel chain was 0.66 m/s, the distance of two adjacent teeth was 152 mm, the angle between lower reel wheel chain and cutter bar was 0 °, the length of up reel wheel belt teeth was 36 mm. The area test has been worked out when the head device were using to the double row corn combine harvester,the test result proves that this harvester head could appease the corn standing position when the double row corn combine harvester was working.The test shows that it has a good meaning to the research and development of the double row corn combine harvester head.
