| Plant essential oils have the characteristics of naturalness and saf ety,and show good biological activity in many fields.The aim of this study was to evaluate the bacteriostatic of a plant essential oil(Plus Protect Digestive)and its effects on intestinal health,serum antibodies and production performance in broilers.In Test 1,the plate counting method was used to observe the inhibitory effect of different concentrations of plant essential oils(0.05%,0.1%,0.2%)on bacterial solutions with different contents(1.0×10~3 CFU/m L,1.0×10~4 CFU/m L,1.0×10~5 CFU/m L).The results showed that 0.1%and 0.2%plant essential oils could inhib it Escherichia coli absolutely and Staphylococcus partially,while 0.2%plant essential oils could inhibit Salmonella slightly.In Test 2,400 0-day Cobb broilers were selected and randomly divided into the control group and the experimental groups 1,2,and 3(0.1%,0.05%,0.025%).Each experimental group drank water mixed with different concentrations of plant essential oils for 9 hours every day.On the 21st and 37th day,the je junal digesta of each group was collected for bacterial 16S r RNA gene detection;on the 37th day,the ileum of each group was collected to observe the changes of intestinal structure.The results showed that the0.05%group on the 21st day could significantly inhibit harmful intestinal bacteria and promote beneficial bacteria(P<0.05),the 0.1%group showed extremely significant differences in the inhibition of intestinal harmful bacteria and the proliferation of beneficial bacteria(P<0.01);there was no significant difference in bacterial flora between the experimental group and the control group(P>0.05)on the 37th day;the integrity of the ileal wall in each experimental group was better than that in the control group.In Test 3,132 000 0-day Cobb broilers were selected and randomly divided into 4groups.Each experimental group drank water mixed with different concentrations of plant essential oils for 9 hours every day from the 14th day.On the 21st,28th,and 35th day,HI test was used to detect the ND and antibody titers of AI-H9 subtype of broilers in each group;on the 39th day,200 broilers in each group were randomly selected and weighed after an empty stomach for 4 hours,and calculated EEF.The results showed that compared with the control group,the ND and antibody titers of AI-H9 subtype of each experimental group at different ages were not significantly different(P>0.05);on the 21st day,the body weight of the broilers in experimental group 1 increased significantly(P<0.05);on the 28th day and 35th day,the body weight of the broilers in experimental groups 1 and 2 increased significantly(P<0.05);the slaughter indicators of each experimental group were better than those of the control group on the 39th day.conclusion:1.Plant essential oils have obvious inhibitory and killing effects on pathogenic Escherichia coli and other intestinal harmful bacteria,and can improve the integrity of the ileal mucosa.2.The improvement of ND and antibody titers of AI-H9 subtypes by plant essential oils was not significant.3.Plant essential oils shows an enhancement in weight gain,FCR reduce and EEF increase of broilers. |
