Buffalograss(Bouteloua dactyloides,syn.Buchloe dactyloides)is a Gramineae perennial warm season low C4 herb of the grass family,with strong drought,cold and disease resistance,is one of the main planting grasses for soil and water conservation,landscaping and ecological restoration in north,northeast and northwest China.The weed control in the early stage of buffalo grass lawn planting is the key to determine the quality of pinging.At present,there is no special herbicide for weed control and management of buffalograss lawn in China.Based on this,this study took‘Zhonglingyu No.1’buffalograss as the research object,and analyzed the effect of 6pre-emergence herbicides and 18 post-emergence herbicides on different types of weeds and their safety to buffalograss based on a thorough investigation of weed species and composition structure in the planting area,with the aim of selecting herbicides with good effect and high safety to buffalorass.The aim was to select herbicides with good efficacy and high safety for buffalograss and their optimal application dosage,so as to lay the foundation for the construction of an efficient and safe weed control technology system for buffalograss.The findings of the study are as follows:(1)The plant efficacy of different pre-emergence herbicides on buffalograss weeds was significantly different.50%diquat 3000 g/hm~2had the highest efficacy on grass weeds at 88.78%,80%azoxystrobin 75 g/hm~2 had the highest efficacy on broadleaf weeds at 80.59%,followed by50%diquat 3000 g/hm~2at 80.33%.The most suitable pre-emergence herbicide for buffalograss was 50%diquat 3000 g/hm~2.(2)There were also significant differences in the efficacy of different post-emergence herbicides on buffalograss weed plants.The effectiveness of carbofuran 1800 ml/hm~2and benazolin 600 ml/hm~2on broadleaf weed plants was 98.89%and 90.78%,respectively;the effectiveness of benazolin 600 ml/hm~2and atrazine 4500 g/hm~2on grass weed plants was 95.56%and 90.33%,respectively.(3)Different herbicides differed significantly in the fresh weight control of weeds.The effectiveness of chloroflumioxazin isooctyl 2100 ml/hm~2and benazolin 600 ml/hm~2on broadleaf weeds was 98.33%and 97.33%,respectively,and the highest effectiveness of benazolin 600ml/hm~2on weeds was 91.23%.(4)There were significant differences in the safety of different herbicides on buffalograss.Diclofenac 450 g/hm~2and carbofuran 900 ml/hm~2 had the lowest inhibition of buffalograss plant height with 7.11%and 7.56%,respectively;chloroflumioxazin isooctyl 2100 ml/hm~2and spermoxazol 3000 ml/hm~2 significantly inhibited the high growth of bison grass with 53.11%and 51.56%inhibition of plant height,respectively.(5)There was a general additive effect of herbicide compound application on weed control.Diclofenac 450 g/hm~2and netsulfuron 300 ml/hm~2showed 99.00%fresh weight suppression of broadleaf weeds;netsulfuron 300 ml/hm~2and clopyralid 60 g/hm~2showed 97.52%fresh weight suppression of grass weeds.The combination of netsulfuron 300 ml/hm~2and chlorimuron-methyl60 g/hm~2had the highest safety evaluation on buffalograss with only 6.67%plant height inhibition.In summary,the recommended pre-emergence herbicides for buffalograss establishment are diquat 3000 ml/hm~2,postemergence herbicides are carbofuran 1800 ml/hm~2and benazolin 600ml/hm~2.The optimal combination of herbicides is netsulfuron 300 ml/hm~2+chlorimuron 60g/hm~2and dichlormid 450 g/hm~2+netsulfuron 300 ml/hm~2.
