Camellia oleifera is not only a rare edible oil,but also has high medicinal value. It is called "Moutai in oil" and "Oriental olive oil".Yuping Dong Autonomous County,Guizhou Province has a history of more than 600 years of artificially planting camellia oleifera. It was inscribed by Premier Zhou Enlai as the "Hometown of Camellia Oil" in 1958.However,in terms of the specific operation of the revival of the camellia oleifera industry in Yuping, there are two differences between "digging" and "not digging".Digging "Old Camellia oleifera" Contemporary scholars have their own opinions. The faction of "digging" proposes to replace the old camellia varieties, learn the Western agricultural mechanization and intensive mode, and achieve the revival of the camellia industry;while the faction that stands in "no digging" believes that the camellia industry is a key part of the ethnic group’s means of production. It shows that the old camellia tree has been integrated with the local ethnic culture,so it cannot be dug.In fact, the debate between "digging" and "not digging" is a microcosm of the confrontation between the classical evolution theory and the neo-evolutionary theory of ethnology. As the first school of ethnology, the classical evolution theory mainly discusses the origin and development of human society and culture, and believes that culture as a whole follows the same development law as biological evolution. However, this kind of understanding also affects the way of thinking of later generations with the advantage of preconceived ideas. Most academic circles and ordinary people believe that science and technology are more advanced than in the past, and mechanized agriculture is more developed than traditional agriculture.Neo-evolutionary theory points out that culture is multi-dimensional,and it is necessary to accept the situation of cultural diversity and diversity. In particular, the focus of cultural ecology theory in neo-evolutionary theory is that the relationship between culture and natural environment is close and interactive. But when it comes to agricultural operations, the question of whether traditional planting techniques should be discarded or retained will always cause controversy in the academic circles.Proponents of tree digging believe that the camellia species is aging, and therefore all old camellia trees should be replaced. They neglected that the camellia oleifera industry is a compound agriculture. As long as the camellia oleifera tree is pruned and grafted,it can exert economic and ecological benefits, which is very different from the herbaceous crops that need to be replanted every year; The behavior not only threatens the local environment, but also damages the local ethnic culture and self-confidence;in the end, their goal of "digging" may not be achieved, because firstly,a lot of manpower, material and financial resources are required, and secondly, new afforestation needs to be excavated at least Shudou,a century-old Camellia oleifera tree has developed roots.Excavation of the tree pocket will cause a lot of loosening of soil, which will inevitably cause soil erosion and cause ecological disasters. It takes at least 8 years for the newly planted Camellia oleifera trees to enter the prosperous period, and it is impossible to quickly implement the country’s call to revive the Camellia oleifera industry.By studying the local knowledge and application value of Camellia oleifera industry in M Village,Yuping County,Guizhou Province, focusing on the question of whether the current old Camellia oleifera trees should be "digged",the cultural ecology of Camellia oleifera under the management and protection of Dong culture was interpreted to prove its value Here, through in-depth discussion of the theoretical basis behind "digging" and "not digging" old camellia oleifera trees and their respective scope of application,it is finally proved that it is not necessary to dig up old camellia oleifera trees to promote the revival of the local camellia oleifera industry and implement the construction of ecological civilization Target.
