As a traditional woody plant,Camellia oleifera Abel oil is one of the important woody oil crops in China,because of its high edible value and wide application.The problem faced by the revival of Camellia oleifera Abel industry are usually considered as the lack of improved breed,backward in production technique,lack of capital and so on.For a long time,the economic value and ecological value of Camellia oleifera Abel tree is cannot be ignored.In Gaoping village,Yongshun county,Camellia oleifera Abel industrial develop has not get a good situation,based on the particularity of karst landform in Wuling mountainous area,the characteristics of karst landform are manifestation that soil layer is relatively thin and prone to corrosion,the surface water storage capacity is not strong and the groundwater is cover deep,so the drought resistance ability is low,the soil fertility is low,resulting in it’s ecological environment is relative fragile,when external factors changes the response is high and strong sensitivity.The water resources belong to the binary alternations between surface water and groundwater,the planting of Camellia oleifera Abel tree can adapt to such an ecological environment.Since the Ming and Qing Dynasties,Camellia oleifera Abel tree has been widely planted in Wuling mountainous area,which has become the main edible oil and economic crop of the people.It has also become a cultural factor of the people in Wuling mountainous area.At present,under the impact of genetically modified edible oil,Camellia oleifera Abel industry in Wuling mountainous area began to decline.In today’s era when genetically modified oil plants occupy the mainstream,it is particularly necessary to study how to better the original ecological diet culture created by the ancestors,and how to revive the Camellia oleifera Abel crops that have occupied the mainstream in Wuling mountainous area since the Ming and Qing Dynasties.In view of this,this paper from Wuling mountainous area Camellia oleifera Abel cultivation history and natural environment that two dimensions as the perspective,select Gaoping Village in Yongshun County as the fieldwork place,to study how to revive the Camellia oleifera Abel industry in Wuling mountainous area in the contemporary period,this paper is mainly divided into the following aspects.Through investigation and study,we think thinks that in Wuling mountainous areas,due to the low precipitation,climate and other factors,local farmers in the long-term life experience,accumulated abundant local ecological knowledge,can gain economic and ecological benefits from Camellia oleifera Abel industry,take advantage of local knowledge,will increase income and protect the ecological environment at the same time.When farmers be the subjects of beneficiary,they focus on their own interests.When they compete with other powers,local knowledge is abandoned when it faces of interests,farmers are less willingness to plant Camellia oleifera Abel,and the Camellia oleifera Abel is also facing the situation of being abandoned.The author thinks,Camellia oleifera Abel regards forestry as the basic characteristic,it with industry,agriculture is different,industries prosper must by prosperous culture.
