| Hexi Corridor is the production base of high quality and high yielding alfalfa in China. However, the region is arid and semi-arid land, and water resources are very short, which has become the main constraint of alfalfa production in the region. How to improve the efficiency of limited water resources utilization and explore the watersaving irrigation mode of alfalfa production is of great significance to guarantee the quality and yield of alfalfa, improve the economic benefits of alfalfa production and achieve the sustainable development of alfalfa industry. Therefore, this study analyzes the production efficiency and economic benefits of five alfalfa irrigation modes based on the research and relevant statistical data of alfalfa planting enterprises, cooperatives and farmers in the Hexi region from 2017 to 2020,combined with intelligent water and fertilizer integration mode experiments, using DEA-Malmquist index method and costbenefit method, and the results of the study show that.Firstly, from 2017 to 2020,the mean value of Malmquist index of alfalfa irrigation in the Hexi corridor was 0.9842.The Malmquist index of irrigation efficiency is ranked from highest to lowest as follows: Intelligent irrigation water and fertilizer integration mode > Trickle irrigation water and fertilizer integration mode > Flood irrigation+water and fertilizer integration mode > Sprinkler irrigation water and fertilizer integration mode > Flood irrigation mode, and the mean value of the index in order The results showed that the overall trend of alfalfa production efficiency in Hexi Corridor decreased by 0.16% in 4 years.Secondly, the experimental results of the intelligent irrigation water and fertilizer integration model showed that the water saving rate, fertilizer saving rate, labor saving rate and yield increase rate were 106.63%,18.13%,100% and 83.04%,respectively.It shows that the smart water-fertilizer integration model is the most efficient, with an increase of about 20.9% from 2017-2020;the flood irrigation mode is the least efficient, with a decrease of about 2.6%.Thirdly,the cost benefits of the five irrigation modes in 2017-2020 are ranked from highest to lowest: Intelligent irrigation water and fertilizer integration mode > Trickle irrigation water and fertilizer integration mode > Sprinkler irrigation water and fertilizer integration mode > Flood irrigation+water and fertilizer integration mode > Flood irrigation mode, with average returns of 173.90%,84.81%,84.16%,57.52%,and 42.02%in that order The yield of all five irrigation modes showed a steady increase over the four years, with an average annual growth rate of 28.19%.Fourthly,the input elasticity coefficient of the five alfalfa irrigation modes is 0.665,where the elasticity of each cost input factor in order of magnitude is: other costs0.0965 > fertilizer costs 0.0958 > water and electricity costs 0.0742 > irrigation equipment costs-0.0788 > infrastructure costs-0.0948.The results show that the change of irrigation inputs is an important factor affecting alfalfa output factor. In conclusion,a single irrigation mode cannot adapt to the needs of alfalfa growth in the Hexi Corridor, and it is necessary to combine flood irrigation or sprinkler irrigation on the basis of water-fertilizer integration mode, which can not only improve the utilization efficiency of water resources, but also meet the needs of water and water fertilization for alfalfa growth, and play the combination effect of multiple modes. |
