| Objective: To study the expression of E2F7,E-cadherin,and Vimentin in gastric cancer and corresponding para-carcinoma tissues to analyze relations between the three proteins and clinicopathological parameters of patients with gastric cancer and among the three proteins,hoping to provide new perspectives and thoughts for therapeutic methods and prognosis evaluation of such cancer.Methods: The paper applies immunohistochemical experiments to test the expression of E2F7,E-cadherin,and Vimentin in 70 cases of both gastric cancer and corresponding para-carcinoma tissues,both experimental technologies of Western-Blot and Real-Time PCR to test the expression of E2F7,E-cadherin,and Vimentin in 12 cases of both gastric cancer and corresponding para-carcinoma tissues,and statistical software to analyze relations between the three proteins and clinicopathological parameters and among the three proteins.Results:(1)The expression of E2F7 in gastric cancer tissues obviously increases compared with corresponding para-carcinoma tissues(P<0.05),which is related to the penetration of serosa,the late staging of TNM,and the transfer of some lymph glands in patients with gastric cancer;(2)The expression of E-cadherin in gastric cancer tissues obviously decreases compared with corresponding para-carcinoma tissues(P <0.05),which is related to the penetration of serosa and the transfer of some lymph glands in patients with gastric cancer;(3)The expression of Vimentin in gastric cancer tissues obviously increases compared with corresponding para-carcinoma tissues(P<0.05),which is related to the penetration of serosa,the poor differentiation,the late staging of TNM,and the transfer of some lymph glands in patients with gastric cancer;(4)In gastric cancer tissues,there is a negative correlation between the expression of E2F7 and E-cadherin(r=-0.312,P=0.020),a positive correlation between the expression of E2F7 and Vimentin(r=0.339,P=0.013),and a negative correlation between the expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin(r=-0.373,P=0.005).Conclusions:(1)The expression of E2F7 and Vimentin in gastric cancer tissues increase compared with corresponding para-carcinoma tissues,the expression of E-cadherin in gastric cancer tissues decrease compared with corresponding para-carcinoma tissues;(2)The expression of E2F7 is related to the depth of infiltration,pathological staging,and the transfer of lymph glands in patients with gastric cancer,the expression of E-cadherin is related to the depth of infiltration and the transfer of lymph glands in those patients,and the expression of Vimentin is related to the depth of infiltration,the degree of differentiation,pathological staging,and the transfer of lymph glands in those patients;(3)In gastric cancer tissues,there is a positive correlation between the expression of E2F7 and Vimentin,and a negative correlation between the expression of E-cadherin and E2F7 and between the expression of E-cadherin and Vimentin.Meanwhile,;(4)The combined testing of E2F7,E-cadherin and Vimentin is likely to be helpful to evaluate the depth of invasion and lymph node metastasis in patients with gastric cancer. |
