Objective:Comparing the postoperative healing and Bone defect repair effects of Guided Bone Regeneration GBR with the maxillary cyst with the largest diameter between 1.5cm and4.0cm,by comparing the advantages and disadvantages of the two types of surgery,Discuss how to apply GBR more rationally. Methods:The clinical data of patients diagnosed with jaw cyst in the Second Hospital of Shanxi Medical University from September 1,2018 to July 1,2021 were retrospectively analyzed.A total of 25 cases met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, including 11 cases of jaw cyst excision undergoing GBR at the same time, and 14 cases of jaw cyst excision only, which were classified as bone graft group A and control group B,respectively. The postoperative wound healing of all patients was counted and the occurrence of postoperative complications was recorded.CBCT of all patients at 3,6 and 12 months after surgery was collected to analyze the gray value(HU)representing bone mineral density of their imaging data and evaluate the quality of bone repair.CBCT was introduced into Minics to calculate the postoperative defect volume and evaluate the rate of new bone formation. All data were imported into SPSS26.0 for statistical analysis and comparison.Results:1.Postoperative complications: the incidence of complications was 27.3% in the bone graft group and 7.1% in the control group, which was higher than that in the control group.2.Rate of new bone formation: The rate of new bone formation in the bone graft group was higher than that in the control group at 3,6 and 12 months after surgery, with statistical significance(P<0.05).3.New-born bone mineral density: the new-born bone mineral density in the bone grafting group was higher than that in the control group at 6 and 12 months after surgery, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:1.Compared with the excision of jaw cyst alone, the combined GBR technique can indeed accelerate the reconstruction and repair of jaw defect in early stage, and maintain the shape of jaw bone to a considerable extent, with good predictability.2.There was no obvious advantage in long-term clinical practice for patients who underwent maxillary cyst excision combined with simultaneous GBR technique and only underwent maxillary cyst excision.3.The GBR technique does have the potential to increase complications to some extent and should therefore be considered carefully in patients who do not require later implantation.
