| With the development of our society and people’ living standards,public expectations on and demands for healthcare are increasing.To better tackle common diseases and frequently-occurring diseases which have specific diagnosis and treatment solutions,improve working efficiency and reduce workload of medical workers,enhance medical service level,reduce medical risks,and standardize and institutionalize medical diagnosis and treatment behaviors,China has begun to implement clinical pathways.Meanwhile,as the promotion and development of hospital informatization reach a high level,hospitals begin to analyze medical informatization data that they have accumulated for years and gradually develop toward hospital knowledge management and data analysis.Clinical pathway systems just emerge in this context.This paper designed and implemented a clinical pathway system based on the C/S architecture and developed by Power Builder.The system used UML,a unified object-oriented language,and Oracle10 g for secondary development based on some functions of the current HIS.The system achieved pathway creation and management,pathway application and execution,and pathway monitoring and statistics,meeting China’s demands for clinical pathway management and informatization.The system also added major functions of clinical pathways into the common hospitalization process of the current HIS,achieving the coexistence of two hospitalization processes.The system has been launched and implemented in Guangdong Women and Children Hospital.It standardizes medical services and behaviors,optimizes hospitalization date management,and enables patients to receive proper medical services.Besides,it also improves the bed turnover rate and training effect of inpatient doctors,and reduces waste of resources.Currently,the system still has a problem which is that it cannot provide accurate data analysis on the execution status of pathway templates.Therefore,the areas of improvement in the future will be collecting variable data of pathways to provide data support for pathway optimization & analysis and help build the knowledge base. |
