The Clinical Effect Observation Of Allergic Rhinitis (AR) With Upper Airway Cough Syndrome (UACS) In Children Treated By Xin YI LI ZHONG Decoction

Objective: To assess the effectiveness of Xin Yi Li Zhong Decoction in treating Allergic Rhinitis(AR)with Upper Airway Cough Syndrome(UACS)in Children Methods:In this study,children with upper airway cough syndrome(UACS)caused by allergic rhinitis(AR)(Fei-Pi-Liang-Xu;Feng-Tan-Shang-Rao)were studied in children,a total of 60 cases,of which 30 patients received Xin Yi Li Zhong Decoction treatment,and the other 30 cases received mometasone furoate nasal spray nasal spray and montelukast sodium chewable tablets orally treatment,the cough as the main evidence,sputum cough,nasal congestion,nasal itching,sneezing,runny nose,throat clearing,pharyngeal signs as secondary symptoms,and the total score of TCM syndrome items as indicators.After 2 and 4 weeks of treatment,the improvement of TCM symptoms,TCM total scores was assessed,and the efficacy of the two groups was evaluated in accordance with the cough efficacy criteria.Prior to and after treatment,the two groups were monitored and scored.Results:In the oral treatment group of Xin Yi Li Zhong Decoction,19 cases were clinically cured,7 cases were effective,3 cases were effective,and 1 case was ineffective,with a total effective rate of 96.7%;Mometasone furoate nasal spray and montelukast sodium control group recovered 11 cases clinically,effective 6 cases,effective 2 cases,ineffective 11 cases,the total effective rate was 66.7%,after the analysis of statistical software SPSS26.0,the total effective rate of the two groups was significantly different(P<0.05).After 2 weeks of treatment,the cough,sputum production,runny nose,nasal itching,pharyngeal signs,The treatment group’s TCM syndrome were superior to those of the control group(P<0.05),yet no noteworthy distinction was seen in nasal congestion,sneezing,or throat clearance between the two groups(P>0.05)..After 4 weeks of treatment,the treatment group had significantly reduced the scores in terms of cough,sputum,nasal congestion,nasal itching,sneezing,runny nose,throat clearing,pharyngeal signs,total points of TCM syndrome and the P value was less than 0.01,which was statistically significant.The P value was less than0.05,and the difference was statistically significant,but in terms of rhinorrhea,there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:In this study,the treatment of allergic rhinitis with upper airway cough syndrome(Fei-Pi-Liang-Xu;Feng-Tan-Shang-Rao)in children by Xin Yi Li Zhong Decoction was better than that of mometasone furoate nasal spray and montelukast sodium in the control group.Xin Yi Li Zhong Decoction embodies the idea of "Fei-PiBI Treatment" for allergic rhinitis with upper airway cough syndrome in children,which has a significant effect on improving cough,sputum production,nasal congestion,nasal itching,sneezing,throat clearing,pharyngeal signs,etc.,but the two groups have similar efficacy in improving rhinorrhea.
