Abstract/Summary:
The governance of the officials is related to the success or failure of a regime.Ming Dynasty as the late period of ancient Chinese Society, there is a relatively complete system of official assessment, rewards and punishments, which makes its bureaucratic mechanism operate effectively. One of the punishments of officials in the Ming Dynasty is demotion. The reasons for demotion are different. The level of working ability and personal morality are directly related to the official career development. At the same time,as a dynasty with many political events, the official career is difficult to be smooth,Demotion becomes an important measure to punish the opponents in the conflict of interest. In Ming Dynasty, relegation of officials has formed a certain rule. However,as an autocratic and centralized power to a higher degree, the characteristics of "rule of man" are also very obvious. The intention of the emperor and the interference of the officials have become an important incentive for officials to change their official career. In this paper,we use the important historical materials such as《the history of the Ming Dynasty》and 《the actual records of the Ming Dynasty》to sort out the demotion data of 1296 officials, use data analysis, comparative research and other methods to explore the reasons and principles of demotion in Ming Dynasty, and also clarify the transfer and way out of demotion,Through the study of the demotion of officials,we can see one part of the political life of Ming Dynasty.
