Marx’s Concept Of The Sensuous Consciousness

Clarifying the concept of sensuous consciousness in Marxist philosophy reveals fundamentally how Marx truly broke through the "interiority of consciousness" of metaphysics.On the basis of inheriting and criticizing Hegel’s "perceptivity " concept,Marx defined human essence as "conscious existence maneuver".Sensibility is not an abstract and impoverished essence.sensuous consciousness is the way of nature itself;Based on the critical analysis of Feuerbach’s concept of "sensuous intuition",Marx regards sensibility as the sole criterion of concrete nature,and understands sensuous people and nature as "the sensuous activities".Marx’s interpretation of the concept of sensuous consciousness is in a process of continuous deepening.The sensibility as the shape of time separates the essence and existence of atoms.In the contradictory movement between existence and essence,sensuous consciousness becomes the way of presentation in nature,and then realizes the true freedom of self-consciousness;Sensuous consciousness is the subjectivity of the essential power of objectivity.In the activities of sensuous consciousness,the essence of man and nature has reached a true unity.Socialism starts with the sensuous consciousness that theoretically and practically regards human and nature as essence;Sensuous consciousness is the consciousness of people’s own social production activities.In social production activities,the contradictory development of individual productivity and production relations in different aspects of development is the foundation and motivation for human existence.The opposition between spiritual labor and material labor is rooted in the contradiction of the essential part of labor — conscious activity and existence maneuver.Only by overcoming this confrontation can we possess all the human essential forces generated by history and realize free and comprehensive development of human being.Sensuous consciousness regards man and nature as the essence of man in theory and practice,so that man and nature have achieved a real and realistic unity.In this sense,the contradiction between existence and essence has been truly resolved.As sensuous consciousness,the symbol is the intermediary and unity of subject and object.In the symbolic activity,the subject and object are truly united.
