The Influence Of Impulsivity On Relapse Tendency Of Drug Addicts: Chain Mediating Effect Analysis

Background: Drug abuse seriously harms individual health and affects social public security.Relapse rate of drug addicts is more than 90%.Relapse is the key and difficult point in drug rehabilitation work.Individual impulsivity is a predictor of relapse tendency,while negative emotion and irrational perception of drugs are risk factors of relapse,and there may be a potential relationship between them.Objective :(1)To explore the relationship between impulsivity,negative emotion,irrational belief and relapse tendency of drug abusers;(2)To explore the mediating effect of negative emotion and irrational belief on impulsivity and relapse tendency of drug abusers;(3)To explore the mechanism of impulsivity,negative emotion and irrational belief on relapse tendency in different genders.Research methods: 232 drug addicts from a drug rehabilitation center in Zhengzhou,Henan were selected for questionnaire testing,and there were 209 answers after excluding the rules of missed answers and wrong answers.Barratt Impulsivity Scale(BIS-11),Chinese Version of Positive and negative Emotions Scale(PANAS),Irrational beliefs Scale and relapse Tendency Scale were used.SPSS22.0 was used for difference test and correlation test,and chain mediation test was conducted for negative emotions and irrational beliefs.AMOS24.0 was used to compare multiple groups at different ages.Results :(1)More than 90% of the addicts had relapse,and the addicts had the characteristics of high addiction,long duration and repeated use.(2)The irrational belief and relapse tendency of drug abusers were significantly different in gender and age of drug abuse P<0.05),marital status has significant difference in irrational belief(P<0.05);(3)There were positive correlations among impulsivity,negative emotion,irrational belief and relapse tendency(P<0.05);(4)Irrational belief partially mediated the relati onship between impulsivity and relapse tendency,accounting for 34.899%;(5)The negative emotion and irrational belief played a chain mediating role between impulsivity and relapse tendency,and the chain mediating effect accounted for 7.383%.(6)The mediating effects of negative emotion and irrational belief on impulsivity and relapse tendency were different among drug addicts of different ages.Conclusion :(1)Impulsivity of drug abusers can positively predict relapse tendency;(2)Irrational belief plays a mediating role in the influence of impulsivity and relapse tendency,that is,the impulsivity can indirectly influence relapse tendency through irrational belief;(3)Negative mood and irrational belief play a chain mediating role between impulsivity and relapse tendency,that is,impulsivity can influence relapse tendency through influencing negative emotion and irrational belief;(4)The mechanism of impulsivity,negative emotion and irrational belief on relapse tendency is different in different age groups.
