| The business relations between China and Mexico have been developing through the last 50 years since 1972.With this growth Chinese and Mexican companies have been exchanging culture and business matters.This research will help to get to know the Chinese and Mexican employees’ cultural values differences,which are key elements in cross-cultural relationships and affect in a working area.The Portrait Values Questionnaire(PVQ)has shown strong potential in assessing the value system modeled on Universal Values Schwartz in different cultures and populations.This instrument is used to measure the values of the sample of 248 Chinese and Mexican employees who are working together and share a working environment.Dimensions of this instrument are multidimensional.There are 10 dimensions used in the basic value variable,namely self-direction,stimulation,hedonism,achievement,power,security,conformity,tradition,benevolence,and universalism with a total of 21 items.Those 10 dimensions were reduced to 4 based on Schwartz value theory and which were used to compare the main cultural values of both of the samples.Results showed a strong value difference.To conclude,this study supported most of the hypothesis and based theories with the analyzed results. |
