A Study Of "Degree Adverb + Noun" Structure In Modern Chinese

As an unconventional language phenomenon in modern Chinese,the "degree adverb+ noun" structure has appeared since the 1880 s,in newspapers and magazines,literary works,television programs,network platform and people’s daily life has been more and more widely used.Many scholars have tried to explain the structure of "degree adverb +noun" from different angles,which is why nouns without declarative semantic features can match adverbs.From the basic semantic analysis of nouns to the introduction of new theories and methods to explore the deep mechanism of "degree adverb + noun" structure,the research on this structure has been deepened and improved,but there are still some deficiencies.On the basis of previous studies,this paper tries to give a reasonable explanation to the structure of "degree adverb + noun",and analyzes the factors that influence the formation of this structure,at last,it predicts the nouns that may enter this structure.In this paper,the source of the meaning of nouns is analyzed from the perspective of the six qualia structure of nouns,the paper holds that the prominence of Formal,Constitution,Functional,Agentive,Action and Evaluation makes nouns acquire the characteristic meanings and match the degree adverbs.The formation of "degree adverb +noun" structure is closely related to human’s cognition.All the encyclopedic knowledge about nouns in people’s mind is the source of Noun’s character meaning.The mechanism of metonymy and metaphor provides a way for the activation of traits of noun and the categorization theory is an important basis for the functional transformation of nouns.In addition,whether a noun can enter the "degree adverb + noun" structure is also affected by its rich connotation,relevant context,pragmatic needs,frequency of use and other factors.Generally speaking,nouns with higher cognition,richer connotation,more pragmatic meaning and at the edge of category are more likely to enter into the structure of "degree adverb + noun".The innovation of this paper lies in the application of the nominal property structure/qualia structure to the analysis of the traits of noun,which provides a new idea for the description of the nominal meaning,meanwhile,the introduction of cognitive linguistics reveals the deep-seated reasons for the formation of "degree adverb + noun" structure.
