Research On Artistic Expression Of Character Shaping Of Animation Characters

Animated characters are as essential and crucial as the movie stars in a live action film.A good animated character not only drives the storyline and makes the story stick in the minds of people,but also shapes the brand of the animation industry and develops derivatives.In the process of creating an animation work,whether it is the overall conception of the work or the pursuit of artistic style,a distinctive animation character is indispensable.Firstly,as the plot rises and falls,the psychology of the characters will change,such as fear,dread,sadness and excitement,and these changes also subtly drive the development of the plot of the animated film.Secondly,the presentation of the animation art level is more subtle and subliminal to the characterisation of the characters,with the combination of different visual elements having a direct impact on the portrayal of the character.Furthermore,the characterisation of the character’s movements and expressions through the animation performance makes the character come to life completely,just like a real person with a character.Finally,through the author’s graduation design animation short film,I will give a detailed analysis and elaboration on how the author created the character from these aspects.The chapters of this paper are interlinked.In the study of character shaping,the author applied some of the insights obtained from the study to the graduation design animation short films Dream Racer and Together by consulting a large number of monographs,literature and watching excellent films at home and abroad.The work has made bold innovations,and the presentation of the dream content in the creation uses surrealism,which is an attempt to strengthen the character characteristics of the characters.The aim of this paper is to explore the theory and practice of characterisation by exploring how characterisation can be shaped from the storyline,art level presentation and animation performance level of an animation film,leaving some inspiration and inspiration for future animation creators in the creation of animation.
