Research On Sanxing Gold Mine(1890-1916)

Sanxing Gold Mine was a government-run gold mine in late Jilin Sanxing place(now Heilongjiang Yilan),which arose under the call of Guangkaili Yuan of the Qing government.It mainly mined gold in Donggou and Heibei.As early as in the Tongzhi period,local people found that there were a large number of high-quality gold sand,and privately stolen mining,and repeatedly banned,gold bandits became a local harm.During the reign of Xiantong,Tsarist Russia continued to nibble at the northeast border,and Jilin gradually became an inland province.Meanwhile,the Russians constantly peeped and explored the resources in Northeast China,and attempted to provoke and take them as their own.The fear of bandits covet gold mines from abroad caused the Qing government to lose its right to profit.Chang Shun,general of Jilin at that time,proposed a new method of opening gold mines in addition to government and commercial operation,that is,pilot operation first.So far,opened the name of Sanxing Gold Mine twenty-seven years of opening course.In the spring of 1890,Chang Shun put forward the mining method of turning private into official.In line with the principle of "opening a gold mine with high profits and stopping no profits",he applied to the Qing government to open Sanxing Gold Mine in advance.After the approval,two months of trial results are fruitful.However,the Qing government was afraid of gold bandits in the local unrest,so they stopped the mine’s trial operation,the mine is still banned policy.The official opening was in the spring of 1895.At this time the Qing government financial crisis is unprecedented,ushered in the climax of the national mining industry.In the Beiyang minister Wang Wenshao’s promotion and the Qing government relaxed the development of mining environment,by the early general office Song Chunao,with the help of Sheng Xuanhuai,gathered the stock silver one hundred thousand liang,Sanxing Gold Mine officially opened.Although there were difficulties in the beginning,it made a profit in 1898 and donated 20,000 silver to the local army of Jilin.However,Sanxing Gold Mine was hit hard by Tsarist Russia in 1900,and its future was not easy.Plus the nonhuman,the old gold and planted less hard,natural disasters,low mining technology,from personnel of course of erosion,the government is unable to support,the operating results of Sanxing Gold Mine continued to decline,falling into the situation of repeated losses,and then still losing,and finally to the situation of no one interested.
