A Translation Project Report For National Emergency Management System Plan Of China During The 14th Five-Year Plan Period

As the first national emergency response system and capacity-building plan for building a socialist modern country in an all-round way during the 14th Five-Year Plan period,the official English translation of National Emergency Management System Plan of China During the 14th Five-Year Plan Period is provided by the Ministry of Emergency Management of the People’s Republic of China,the competent department,which can convey concepts and discourses with Chinese characteristics completely and responsibly.Meanwhile,this translation will further publicize the efforts and achievements made by the Chinese government in the reform and development of emergency management institutions,so that the international community can better understand the development priorities and directions of China’s emergency management.This translation report is composed of the introduction of the translation project,the research background,the analysis of the translation cases of characteristic terms and idiomatic sentences,and the summary of the project.By reporting the typical language phenomena of the Planning Project and analyzing the examples with Newmark’s correlative approach to translation theory,this paper tries to summarize the characteristics of emergency management translation,hoping to provide reference for translators in emergency management foreign affairs,as well as translation researchers with interest into emergency management.Through the English translation project of the Plan,the author and experts and scholars of entire emergency management system had privilege to fully explore the terminology definition,language paradigm,and fixed translation methods suitable for the translation of current political texts in the field of emergency management,and explore some effective strategies and methods for the translation of foreign affairs in the field of emergency management,so as to effectively improve the quality language service in the field of emergency management foreign affairs,serve the standardization of foreign language services for emergency management,accumulate and temper professional language service teams,make them adapt to the highly professional field of emergency management,and better serve the development of international cooperation in emergency management of China.
