Circle dance is a worldwide original dance and one of the earliest forms of collective dance. Its main feature is that dancers always follow a circular trajectory. This paper extends and expands the circle dance proposed by the current academic circles, that is,it discusses more about the " circle dance " in the broad concept, mainly referring to all the dances related to the circle in China ’s ethnic folk dance and ancient music and dance, including both rotation and collective dance. The ancient Huxuan dance and the existing Uygur Daolang dance are typical representatives of circle dance, and they are presented in the form of spin dance. Many scholars have proposed that there is a correlation between the two dances, but there is a lack of further demonstration and research. At present, most of the relevant research literature and works on this topic only focus on the unilateral aspects of music or dance, and the research methods mostly use history, archaeology, etc.,while the combination of music and dance and the connection between ancient and modern research is relatively scarce.Based on the above, this paper intends to start from the perspective of ethnomusicology, using research methods such as history and living connection, field investigation, and combining with the theory of embodied cognition, starting from the perspective of historical ethnomusicology and the research level of body behavior, trying to make the existing living traditional music and dance and historical music and dance materials prove each other, and then the relationship between Huxuan dance and Daolang dance is verified and deduced. The main body of this paper consists of three chapters. The first chapter mainly clarifies the characteristics of the distribution of circle dance ? What are the propagation routes related to ? This chapter first defines the "circle dance",and sorts out its causes and types, and then marks the popular areas of circle dance on the map according to the classification,in order to understand the distribution characteristics of dance within each region, explore the communication route and exchange situation of circle dance, and lead to why we choose to explore the relationship between Huxuan dance and Daolang dance. The second chapter mainly takes the representative circle dance Huxuan dance and Uygur Daolang dance along the line as examples, tries to start with the historical material of murals, sorts out the dance movements of Huxuan dance painted by murals, and then compares and analyzes the movements, postures and performance forms of Uygur Daolang dance in order to explore the similarities and differences between the two dances. The third chapter is introduced by the question of "The difference in the representation of the two dance movements, does it mean that there is no relationship between them?".Through in-depth analysis of the supporting factors that constitute the same action of Huxuan dance and Daolang dance, and combined with the characteristics of Huxuan dance and Daolang dance in their respective production and development process, the reasons for the rotation of the two are analyzed and compared from the perspective of the body.Try to interpret how the body continues to rotate as a cultural memory, and then think and infer the relationship between Huxuan dance and Daolang dance.
