Helmut Lachenmann is a monumental leader in the field of modern German music composition and a pioneer in the field of traditional music, based on the teaching background of the European Conservatory.Lachenmann’s philosophical background has been well documented in his interviews and lectures, which are mainly discursive in aesthetics and rarely include technical explanations of composition. The research papers collected on Lachmann, both at home and abroad, also show a similar weighting of aesthetic and technical analysis. The analysis of orchestration technique is often only a point in the chapters, and there are only a few papers devoted to the analysis of the technical layer of orchestration. In this paper,we will use the technical analysis of the orchestration of Lahemann’s work for large orchestra "Superwash"(or "Anti-terminus"),completed in 1970-1971,to learn about Lahemann’s specific orchestral writing techniques: "the structural organisation of the sound","’The practice of ’instrumental concrete music’ in the orchestra’,’the flexible use of orchestral vocabulary’,and other representative technical practices. The research method will be based on the technical theoretical system in Lahrenman’s personal publications as a pre-requisite,diving into the detailed analysis of the works and discussing the layout and conception of the orchestra’s sound, and then refining the aesthetic context of Lahrenman’s orchestra writing through the study of orchestral writing techniques.
