Helmut Lachenmann who is one of the most distinguished composers at present, has inherited the tradition of German-Austrian music, have always maintained the vitality of innovation, and promote the development of new music. In 1960s, Lachenmann formed his own individual style of musique concrète instrumentale where the concrete sound successfully is implanted in the traditional creation of acoustic instruments, associated with the formation of the so-called "structure is the expressivity". Lachenmann put forward the "aesthetic apparatus" concept based on what he has conquered since the late 1970s, in order to explore new concepts and technical means on composition.New music is often closely related to the composition technique but also the concept of the composer. Therefore, the dissertation ,which is under the guidance of Lachenmann's concept, is intended to focus on the evolution of sound materials, progressing etc. related to Lachenmann's String Quartets composed in his different periods. Further more, it will lead us to understand the spirit of composer's composition, and guide the creation by studying Lachenmann's pieces.
