The bass trombone is a kind of trombone. It is a low brass instrument like the trombone. The difference between the trombone and the trombone is that it has two more systems than the trombone. This different characteristic from the trombone makes the bass trombone in the bass register, has a more outstanding performance in the flexibility of playing. The bass trombone has the F umlaut, the G flat umlaut, and the D umlaut pressed simultaneously. This feature makes the bass trombone more unique and flexible in the use of umlaut keys.At the same time, the flexible use of umlaut keys will also have a corresponding impact on performance. Therefore, this paper focuses on the specific application of F,G flat and D tone key of bass trombone to carry out analysis and research. This thesis is mainly divided into three parts. The first part mainly discusses the evolution of umlaut key in the history of bass trombone and the importance of rational use of umlaut key for performance. The second part focuses on the working principle of the bass trombone umlaut key,and after the use of F umlaut key,G flat umlaut key and D umlaut key,the bass trombone pitch range change, intonation and breath problems, and carries on a systematic summary. In the last part, through the famous German musician Ye Sass’s "Minor Concerto in F major",which is a typical bass trombone music, the allegro and the andante of the music are selected for theoretical analysis with the use of the typical bass trombone umlaut key.Combined with the author’s own actual performance, theory and practice are combined to scientifically and systematically summarize the significance of the author’s own performance and the enlightenment in the future performance, and provide theoretical reference for other players when playing this piece.
