During the new college entrance examination reform in the past ten years,various education policies and the National English Curriculum Standards for general High School(Revised in 2020)have been implemented.The direction of the education mode of high school has been gradually clarified.Listening comprehension ability,as a basic ability to spread Chinese culture and enhance communication between countries,has been getting attention in English teaching and cross-cultural communication.With the increase of listening class hours,the increase of listening forms and the coverage of listening tests,senior high school English courses are gradually approaching the curriculum goal of cultivating students’ core qualities.However,there are still some problems in listening teaching,such as attaching more importance to material input,insufficient use of language output,and ineffective combination of input and output process.As a result,students cannot form comprehensive language application ability in daily English class easily.Production-Oriented Approach(POA)believes that language production is not only a mean,but also a goal of English learning.Under the guidance of POA,learners can obtain the opportunity of “know their own limitations” and the external motivation to repair the language deficiency.By combining it with accurate input material,the original unilateral input and scattered output in listening class can be integrated into an interactive language application system.In this process,students can solve the problem – “separation of learning and application”.And students’ listening comprehension and comprehensive communicative ability can be improved.Based on the theory of POA,this study forms a listening teaching design scheme.Then 116 students in two classes of a middle school in Yan’ an were taken as the research objects,and the research tools such as questionnaire survey,interview and test are used.The study aims to make the following two questions clear:(1)How to make a teaching plan based on the theory of POA for senior high school English listening class?(2)How does the application of POA affect senior high school students’ English listening performance? It is found that under the guidance of POA teaching theory and teaching hypothesis,with the “motivating-enabling-assessing” microcirculation model,English listening courses based on POA are conducive to improving high school students’ English listening scores and English listening learning attitudes.Meanwhile,it is helpful to realize the language skills teaching objectives.
