| The main content of the tales of the strange and the supernatural is the narration of the stories of the supernatural and the ghosts,which is based on the folk and influenced by the spirit of "reality",so it is not only the carrier of the folk stories but also the epitome of the history and culture,and has precious reference value in literature,society,history and other research fields.Hong Mai’s Yi Jian Zhi contains thousands of stories,which is a mirror of the social life,belief culture,ethics and customs of the Song Dynasty experienced by the author.It describes a large number of stories related to the disaster,carrying the thoughts of people in the Song Dynasty on the universe,life and human relations,as well as the good wishes of people for family harmony,social clarity,peace and smoothness.This paper takes the disaster and epidemic stories in Yi Jian Zhi as the research object.On the basis of combing the original materials,reading the text closely,classifying and summarizing,combined with the social and cultural background of the Song Dynasty,this paper aims to understand how the disaster and epidemic stories inherit the disaster memory of the ancestors,interprets the disaster and epidemic stories in Yi Jian Zhi with folk story typology,folklore,anthropology and other related theories.This paper analyzes the development of the form of epidemic literature,discusses how people build up faith and maintain optimism under the epidemic,examines the real life status and spiritual belief of people in the Song Dynasty,and has an insight into their world outlook,outlook on life and values.This paper will be divided into four parts:The first chapter mainly reviews the history of disaster and epidemic writing,summarizes the narrative paradigm of disaster and epidemic in Zhiqi novels,and classifies and sorts out all kinds of disaster and epidemic involved in Yi Jian Zhi.Disaster is a very important theme in classical literature,which can be found in mythology,and then gradually developed into a variety of literary styles.In the Han Dynasty,the emergence of Dong Zhongshu’s theory of "human-nature interaction" made the disaster and epidemic become a political discourse and a means to limit the imperial power.The occurrence of the disaster and epidemic was formally linked with people’s moral values and social behaviors,which affected the creation of the strange novels of later generations.Therefore,the narration of the disaster and epidemic in the strange novels did not separate from the way that historians wrote history,and the story mostly developed in the context of causality.It adopts a neutral perspective of no comment and omniknowledge,and the protagonists are mostly stylized characters,presenting the storyline together.The stories of disasters and epidemics in Yi Jian Zhi involve natural disasters,animal disasters and diseases,each of which has different manifestations in the stories.In the second chapter,according to the differences of plot development units in the disaster and epidemic stories of Yi Jian Zhi,they are divided into different story types.According to the story plots behind these disasters and epidemics,the stories are divided into five types,which are objective record type,punishing evil and promoting good,road distress type,evil ghost disaster reduction type,and evil beast harm type.This paper investigates how the people of Song Dynasty tell the disasters and epidemics,and experiences the Song people’s concept of treating disasters and epidemics in the disaster stories,and investigates the way of avoiding disasters.The third chapter discusses the complex folk beliefs in the story of disaster and epidemic in Yi Jian Zhi.The stories of disasters and epidemics are closely related to folk beliefs.When disasters and epidemics occur,people either ascribe their causes to the defects of human morality,anger of the gods,or place their elimination on the "omnipotent" gods.Therefore,folk beliefs are also a topic that cannot be ignored in the stories of disasters and epidemics.In addition,Yi Jian Zhi introduced a lot of witchcraft used in Song Dynasty for disaster avoidance,the Song people hope to use the power of witchcraft to communicate ghosts and spirits so as to avoid disasters,including praying for rain and dispelling drought,exorcising ghosts and treating diseases.The fourth chapter analyzes the social psychology and social function of the Song people expressed in the disaster and epidemic story of Yi Jian Zhi.Zhiguai stories can outline social customs and glimpse social reality,while stories of the disaster in Yi jian Zhi can examine the behavior orientation and ideology of the Song people,including the folk belief with the tendency of pragmatism,the call for social fairness and justice,the personal ideal of pursuing utility and wealth,and the expression of the survival value of preferring life to death.The story of disaster and epidemic is a mirror of the Song Dynasty society.Through its rich content,it can reflect the spiritual style of the people in Song Dynasty,so as to feel the pulse of The Times,see into the spiritual connotation of the people,and find reference for the psychology and belief of the people in the current post-epidemic era. |
