Research On Husserl’s Essence Theory

In the early 20th century,Husserl,in the process of developing phenomenology,constructed a set of clear and practical theories of essence.As the founder of the phenomenological movement,Husserl redefined the field of essence based on a broad study and critique of past Western philosophical ideas.On the one hand,he fully absorbed the excellent traditions of ancient Greek ontology and logical philosophy;on the other hand,Husserl actively affirmed and criticized the progress and shortcomings of modern apriori philosophy,and in interaction with contemporary analytic philosophy,formed his own views on essence.Husserl applied phenomenological thinking to return essence to the basic connection between things themselves and cognitive activity,laying a thoroughly unprejudiced and stable foundation for science,and further studying how to obtain essence.Husserl’s research approach starts from language and takes categories with apriori properties as objects,prioritizing the mechanism of human understanding;when the intuitive aspect of categories faces certain theoretical difficulties,Husserl conducts self-criticism,determining the starting point of cognition on the apriori logic held by reason,and further returning to the fundamental intuition.Husserl fully utilized the method of phenomenological reduction,and deepened the important guiding role of human imagination in understanding the essence of knowledge,forming a fundamental intuitive method based on free imaginative variation.The fundamental intuition not only fully embodies the theoretical value of a priori logic but also reflects enormous practical value.Firstly,the fundamental intuition affects people’s understanding of truth and truthfulness,expanding their methods of acquiring knowledge of truth.Secondly,the fundamental intuition reflects back on the intuition itself,projecting a complete,absolute a priori self,providing theoretical support for the establishment of a sound personality.Finally,the fundamental intuition is extremely helpful for understanding the relationship between individuals and society,especially in the construction of morality and ethics.Husserl’s theory of essence is rich in content,strongly interconnected,and outstanding in practical value.Although it has exposed some of its own problems in the criticism and rise of anti-essentialist thought in contemporary philosophy,the progress of philosophy is constantly achieved through criticism.Today,once again studying Husserl’s theory of essence is an effort to form a more scientific concept of essence for people in contemporary society.
