A Study On Parallel Narration Of Minority Culture Documentary

Documentary film has outstanding advantages in the protection and dissemination of ethnic traditional culture,which is manifested by the truthfulness and objectivity of the material and vividness of the content,and points to the profound identification with the ethnic traditional culture.Parallel narrative is a unique narrative paradigm in the field of documentary film by achieving the synergy and enrichment of narrative theme,narrative rhythm and narrative logic to complete the calm and tense expression of philosophical theme with a new and different temporal logic.This paper focuses on the parallel narrative structure of ethnic culture documentaries,and through the analysis of classic cases and reflections on the creation practice of graduation works,whether it is a single-line,double-line or even multi-line narrative structure,or the inversion and transformation of narrative time and space,through the connection and contradiction between different generations of characters,it shows the modernization impact faced by generations of ethnic culture and the exploration and path of modern transformation of traditional culture.This paper consists of four chapters: the first chapter defines the concept of parallel narrative in ethnic culture documentaries,summarizes the patterns and characteristics of its creation process,and presents an overview and examples of its performance functions that are different from traditional linear narratives.The second chapter illustrates the relevance and unity of narrative themes from the two forms of expression of parallel narrative structure superimposition strategies in ethnic culture documentaries,and proposes the idea of recording "grand narrative" from a living perspective in the context of parallel narrative.In the third chapter,the presentation of narrative tension in the parallel structure of ethnic culture documentary focuses on the intergenerational attributes in the relationship between characters,and proposes that"growth" and "reversal" in the portrayal of characters in this kind of documentary."In the fourth chapter,we take the graduation work "On Horseback" as the main theme.Chapter 4 takes the graduation work "Hope on Horseback" as the research text,and analyzes the practical significance of the parallel narrative structure chosen for the ethnic culture documentary to show the theme of the documentary in the context of the creation process of the graduation work.
