An Analysis Of The Singing Of The Aria "As Beautiful As An Angel" From The Comic Opera "Don Pasquale

As one of the three great figures of the Italian Romantic opera school,Donizetti’s works are of various genres and styles,and he is often known for his rapid and prolific compositions.His "Don Pasquale","The Sweetness of Love" and Rossini’s "The Serbian Barber" are known as the "Three Italian Comic Operas",and "Beautiful as an Angel" is one of the famous baritone arias in the comic opera "Don Pasquale".Its beautiful melody,vivid characterization and unique dramatic plot have been highly praised and widely sung by singers at home and abroad.In this paper,the author provides an overview of Donizetti’s life and the background of the comic opera Don Pasquale,and analyzes the main characters in the opera.Based on the score itself,I analyze in detail the explicit and implicit factors of the music itself,and provide concrete practical guidance for shaping the characters of the opera in combination with stage performance practice,in order to improve my own interpretation and interpretation ability,and to provide singers with a complementary meaning in the analysis and singing of the work.
