Picture books are the preferred early learning book for most families as well as a ’good companion’ for children as they grow up.They are well adapted to children’s cognitive thinking and promote the development of their cognitive and thinking skills.With the influence of digital media technology,picture books have begun to take on a new form,the dynamic picture book.Using the mobile digital platform as a communication platform,picture books are transformed from static to dynamic with the addition of sound effects,subtitles and voiceovers,providing readers with a new reading experience.The dynamic picture books have been well received by parents and children since their launch.Safety education is a prerequisite for children’s healthy growth,and dynamic picture books can create a good educational environment for children and enhance their safety awareness.In addition,children go through various cognitive stages during their development.Therefore,this thesis takes children’s cognitive characteristics as the central guideline and studies the cognitive thinking characteristics of children at different stages and their needs for dynamic picture books,aiming to design a dynamic picture book with rich illustrations and text,easy to read and interesting and lively abduction prevention and safety education.The research on the design of dynamic picture books based on children’s cognitive thinking is divided into three stages:preliminary research,theoretical data analysis and design practice.Firstly,the topic was identified and proposed in a large number of news reports about children being abducted and lost,and the direction of the picture book design was determined,and the background,cases,contents and methods of the topic were studied in depth.Secondly,the cognitive thinking of children of different ages was divided into stages and the needs of children at each stage for dynamic picture books were assessed according to their characteristics.Research is also conducted on contemporary children’s safety awareness and preference for picture book design in order to establish the content of picture books.Ultimately,this thesis distils a dynamic picture book design strategy based on children’s cognitive thinking and carries out a final design practice based on the strategy.Unlike traditional static picture books,dynamic picture books based on children’s cognitive thinking focus on children’s reading experience and aim to create more diverse reading contexts.This design uses the dynamic picture book as the main carrier and takes children’s cognitive thinking characteristics as the entry point,aiming to raise children’s awareness of abduction prevention and safety education.Through the combination of thesis and graduation design,the design practice of this theme is carried out to explore the practicality,fun and aesthetic value of dynamic picture books.
