| "Self" or "I" in every experience has always been a phenomenon closely related to human beings, and it is also a classic topic of interest and controversy in many research fields about the mind. This paper discusses Antonio Damasio’s "self-theory" from five parts. The introduction part summarizes the research background and purpose of this paper, and the research status at home and abroad.Although the problem of "ego" has been discussed in philosophy and psychology for many years, especially in neuroscience, the neural mechanism of "ego" has been studied more deeply recently, but the concept and definition of "ego" are not completely clear, and the research process is also different. In this respect,Damasio made a systematic study on issues such as "consciousness" and"self according to the path of evolution, biological science and neuroscience. He believes that "self" is a concept developed in the process of biological individual evolution, and studies and demonstrates the reality of self. His statement on "ego" expanded the field of "ego" research. In view of the important value of Damasio’s theory of mind, consciousness and self, scholars at home and abroad are very concerned about his views, and many research achievements have emerged. The first chapter is based on Descartes’ self-theory,which not only summarizes Descartes’ previous self-theory,but also analyzes Descartes’ and later western philosophers’ theoretical exposition of self. Finally,it leads to the theoretical research of self in different modern disciplines.Summarizing and sorting out this aspect is helpful to clarify the historical development of self-theory and better understand the historical position of Damasio’s self-theory.The second chapter analyzes the main contents of Damasio’s self-t heory.Firstly,in the first section, the basic issues of Damasio’s self-the ory are summarized, and his concepts of self and consciousness are cla rified to prevent confusion and ambiguity. The second section discusses the theoretical path of Damasio’s self-theory,including the source of D amasio’s self-theory,and points out the way of self-demonstration.The third section discusses the core content of Damasio’s self-theory,that is,the three stages of consciousness and self:1.The simplest self(primit ive self)-unconsciousness;2.Core self-core-consciousness;3.Autobiogra phical self-expansive-consciousness.The third chapter mainly analyzes the research significance of Da masio’s self-theory.The first section expounds Damasio’s basic ideas ab out mental problems, such as the relationship between body and mind, mind and brain, etc.,and based on this, analyzes and summarizes the philosophical implications of Damasio’s theory of mind and self, and s hows the philosophical rationality of his theory. The second section exp ounds the pioneering and significance of Damasio’s self-theory;The th ird section points out the shortcomings of Damasio’s self-theory.The conclusion part summarizes the basic content of the article,an d explains that Damasio’s self-theory has not solved all the problems a bout the self, and the joint efforts in the fields of philosophy and neur oscience are still needed in the future research. |
