Emotional Philosophy Research Of Damasio

The relationship between emotion and reason is always the research focus of modern western philosophy of mind, Descartes as a pioneer of dualism in this issue of pure rationalism view has influenced the University School of western philosophy of mind. In recent decades, with the development of the discipline of neuro science, cognitive science, psychology and so on, more and more scholars in different fields are also involved in the study of philosophy of emotion. This paper discusses the philosophy of emotion theory, to explore the relationship of emotion and reason from the angle of cognitive science, creatively put forward the emotional philosophy to Damasio’s critique of Descartes. Another view of Descartes’s theory of emotion from the soul of Descartes passion, Descartes believed that the soul and the body is a unity, the passion of the soul is actually directly to the performance of the activities of the body, and the body and mind the two separated, the heart and the passion and rational body two is the separation of the conclusion. This paper discusses the philosophy of emotion theory, to explore the relationship of emotion and reason from the angle of cognitive science, creatively put forward the emotional philosophy to Damasio’s critique of Descartes. In this paper’s point is to approve, think to some extent can indeed affect the mood of rational judgment, but it does not mean that pure reason does not exist, we only rely on the research methods of neural science to philosophy, to better understand the mood and self, to better guide to our daily life.This research mainly consists of the following parts, Firstly, the history of the development of the philosophy of emotion and cognitive psychology theory of emotion were combing the concept, and secondly analyzed the deeper emotion to Descartes view, cognitive science research which leads to Damasio’s emotional problems of philosophy, the body marker hypothesis famous, so as to deduce the key of Descartes’s mistakes the argument. Damasio pointed out the wrong reason lies in:Descartes Descartes set a barrier between the health of body and mind, he will be the most subtle psychological functioning and a biological organism structure and operation separated. Damasio continues by self reality demonstrates three levels of self theory, established their own cognitive emotion theory.Thirdly, also caused the author thought about self cognition, emotion and reason from the question of the relationship between the self study. It is our emotional responses to external stimuli, when touching the important characteristics, they will show a strong emotional reaction. The author thinks, these external stimuli affect people’s emotional life in the influence character by environment, which affects the people’s daily decision making, we should pay attention to this problem, using the correct emotion and cognition, and a deeper understanding of self, self realization.
