Study On The Protection Of The Former Sites Of Allied Diplomatic Offices In Chongqing During The Anti Japanese War

Chongqing is one of the cities that have the most preserved sites of the Anti Japanese War in China.The anti Japanese war sites in the current national cultural relics protection work are witnesses and carriers of the history and culture of the Anti Japanese War.Chongqing is one of the cities that have the most preserved sites of the Anti Japanese War in China.In the current social upsurge in the protection of cultural relics throughout the country,how to promote the former sites of the Alliance’s foreign diplomatic institutions to fully play their functions,not only effectively protect cultural relics and buildings,revitalize local material and cultural heritage,but also rationally use them to let the masses understand the history of the Anti Japanese War,stimulate patriotic enthusiasm,and achieve better protection is the main issue facing cultural relics protection work.On the basis of historical documents,cultural relic repair engineering data,and cultural relic protection work data of the former sites of the Allied diplomatic agencies in Chongqing,this article conducts a field survey,and then analyzes the cultural relic protection situation of the old sites and buildings distributed in Yuzhong District and Nan’an District.The renovation projects and the three defense projects of the Soviet Embassy and the French Consulate in Yuzhong District are the main cases of the protection and repair of this old site group.Through the summary and analysis of the three defense projects and the construction repair process,the experience and inspiration for the protection of cultural relics and buildings are obtained.Using the methods of material analysis,field investigation,and historical documents,this paper summarizes the causes of building damage since its construction,in order to draw a follow-up protection strategy for the former site group of the Allied diplomatic agencies in Chongqing,hoping to provide some ideas for the protection of cultural relics of the Anti-Japanese War sites in Chongqing.
