| Ma Sicong(1912-1987)is a famous composer,music educator and violinist in China.He integrates violin performance,composition and teaching,and has left a strong mark in the history of music in modern times.In addition to playing the violin,he also systematically learned sight singing,ear training,composition and piano,and his musical literacy was greatly improved.After returning to China,Ma Sicong held violin concerts in major cities,promoting the popularization of violin music,during the Anti-Japanese War,he actively composed anti-war songs to encourage enthusiasm for battle,at the same time,Ma Sicong stumbled upon the charm of Chinese folk songs in his creation,so he embarked on a new path of using folk songs for creation.After the founding of the People’s Republic of China,Ma Sicong served as the first president of the Central Conservatory of Music,continuing his musical activities,music creation and violin teaching.Ma Sicong dedicated his life to his favorite violin career,he raised Chinese violin music to a professional level,and at the same time,he worked hard to compose violin music with Chinese flavor,promoting the nationalization process of Chinese violin music."Suiyuan Suite" and "Tone poem of Tibet" are Ma Sicong’s early violin representative works,which are not only Ma Sicong’s early exploration of nationalized harmony,but also works created using folk songs as materials.The advent of these two violin suites heralded the gradual maturity of Ma Sicong’s violin music.Taking the two violin suites of Suiyuan Suite and Tibetan Music Poems as the research objects,this paper attempts to summarize the use of folk materials,harmony vocabulary,melody structure,melody development techniques and other creative techniques in Ma Sicong’s early works.This article consists of an introduction,four chapters,and an epilogue.The introduction briefly describes the reasons and significance of choosing the two suites as the object of analysis,as well as the research status of Ma Sicong’s violin works in academic circles at home and abroad,and finally expounds the research methods and research value of the two suites.The first chapter,Ma Sicong’s life and the background of his works,mainly describes the growth,learning and creative experience of composer Ma Sicong,and uses time to tell the legendary life of violinist,composer and music educator Ma Sicong.Secondly,it introduces the ancient and modern changes in Suiyuan and the humanities,musical culture and geographical location of Tibet,so that readers can better understand the cultural connotation and background of musical works.The second chapter,"Suiyuan Suite" and "Tibetan Music Poems" composition techniques,which is the core part of this article,the first section of the use of ethnic music elements,mainly expounds the quotation of folk song materials in the two suites,and composer Ma Sicong’s own folk-style tunes derived from folk songs;Secondly,the dance rhythm with folk characteristics in the two suites is excavated,and the characteristics of the nationalization of the two suites are proved from the perspective of rhythm.The second section of the melody structure analysis,starting from the melody structure,microscopic analysis of the structure,tonality,and creative techniques of the two parts,and listing the curved structure chart,so that the structure of the work is clear and clear.The third stanza and tone series describe the changes in the tonality of the two suites,the combination of Chinese and Western tonality,and the use of fifth,sixth,and seventh-tone tones.The fourth section mainly analyzes the three-degree superposition,non-third-degree superposition,characteristic structure and string and Western modern harmonic techniques that appear in the two suites,as well as the progression of harmonies.The fifth section of the multi-voice texture describes the hierarchical relationship and organization of the multi-voice music in the two suites.The third chapter describes the nationalization and development of violin in China and the nationalization of the two suites in the repertoire,such as the use of violin glide,vibrato,and leaning in the repertoire;Finally,the musical characteristics of the two suites are analyzed.The fourth chapter,divided into three parts: "Suiyuan Suite" and "Tibetan Music Poems" provide experience for Chinese violin works,the influence of Ma Sicong’s violin nationalization creation on China,and the significance of Ma Sicong’s violin music nationalization development,these three parts summarize the inheritance of the two suites to predecessors,their role at that time and their impact on future generations,which is a concluding chapter.The conclusion of the fifth chapter is based on the first four chapters,the summary and sublimation of Ma Sicong’s violin creation techniques,further affirmed the artistic value and epochal value of "Suiyuan Suite" and "Tibetan Music Poems",affirmed that these two suites have played a huge role in the development of violin nationalization,and finally,hope that more excellent Chinese works will appear in this era. |
