A Study Of The Composition Technique Of The Title Symphony "The Sun That Never Sets"

The symphony "The Sun That Never Sets" is a unique Mongolian-style symphonic work composed by composer Hu De in 2014 based on the song "The Sun That Never Sets Rises on the Grassland" composed by his father,Mei Li Qi Ge.Based on the original song,the work is expanded to a four-movement symphonic scale,incorporating both the expressive content and musical form and writing techniques,the spirituality of the nation embodied in the economic construction of the country and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in the new era,as well as the majestic power and praise of the new life inspired by it.Many other folk songs are quoted throughout the piece as contrasting themes for development,and they are applied in different forms to the four movements of the piece to make the thematic ideas more fully expressed.The references of different themes contrast with each other and enrich the structure of the content,finally forming a unified central idea,making the piece sublimated on the original basis.In this paper,we analyze the central idea,composition method,style characteristics and aesthetic value of this piece in order to find the rules and explore the right development path for the creation and development of symphonic music in the new era.In this paper,the composition background,composition techniques,structural form and even aesthetic characteristics of the music are studied one by one,and the expression of musical emotions,the support of the form to the content,and the musical essence,including theme,harmony,tune,polyphony and orchestration,are deeply analyzed.In particular,the innovative factors that support the thematic ideas and the combination of folk music composition with the times are analyzed and considered in a more valuable way.The study of how composers apply the elements of folk songs to symphonic music and use the elements of Mongolian style in the compositions to form a unique ethnic symphonic style.With the development of economy and society,Chinese symphonic music shows the characteristics of diversification,nationalization as well as modernity.It has gradually formed its unique national characteristics and style,making the fusion of national traditional music and western symphonic forms.He has made great achievements in the exploration of compositional techniques to make it more contemporary.This paper attempts to analyze and discuss the title symphony "The Sun that Never Sets" composed by Mr.Hodder,laying a corresponding foundation for the development of ethnic music creation in Inner Mongolia,the protection and inheritance of ethnic music culture and innovation development as well as the creation of related forms in the future.It will provide guidance and reference for our future symphonic music creation,and find the law and development path of ethnic symphonic music creation.
