Research On The Generalization Of Kinship Appellations In Modern Chinese

This paper takes the newly emerged generalization phenomenon of kinship terms as the research object,selects "dear","family","husband" and "wife" as the representatives,and makes an analysis based on a large number of corpus and questionnaire survey from the perspectives of semantic,pragmatic and generalization mechanism and motivation,briefly summarizes the development status of kinship terms generalization,and points out the existing problems in the process of generalization.According to this,some normative suggestions are put forward.First of all,based on a large number of corpus,the analysis of kinship appellations such as "dear" and "family" from the perspective of semantics shows that these kinship appellations have developed into assumed kinship terms.At the same time,after summarizing its semantic characteristics,it is concluded that "dear","family" and other assumed kinship terms mainly have semantic characteristics different from kinship appellations,such as non-kinship relationship,additional emotional color and gender ambiguity.Secondly,combined with the corpus,it is found that the assumed kinship terms is closely related to the context in the process of use.On the one hand,the assumed kinship terms "family" is affected by the generalized context,and is mostly used for superficial appellation.On the other hand,when the familiarity of assumed kinship terms is high,it mainly depends on the linguistic context;when the familiarity of assumed kinship terms is low,it mainly relies on the external context of words.In addition,after the generalization of kinship appellation,it mainly has the pragmatic function of highlighting emotions,so that the speaker can enhance the feelings with the communication object and provide convenience for the smooth progress of the conversation between the two sides.This paper describes the selected words from semantic and pragmatic perspectives,we think that the generalization mechanism of kinship appellations is metaphor,and explain the generalization motivation of kinship appellations from the aspects of language system,social psychology,Internet,culture and so on.Finally,from the whole point of view,according to the statistical data,describe the current use of the proposed kinship appellations,and on this basis,point out that the current process of the generalization of kinship appellations has caused ambiguity and other problems,thus pointing out that the generalization of kinship appellations should be standardized from the aspects of necessity,clarity,universality,etc.
